I hope it's Up. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love Jim Horner's score for Avatar, but apparently from what I'm hearing, it's pretty similar to scores he composed for other movies, but I haven't taken the time to listen to those so I can't judge. Up had a very nice and original score. Sherlock Holmes's score was pretty awesome as well.

What was a real shocker for me was that Up, Inglorious Basterds, and District 9 are in the best picture category, but that could be in part because they expanded the nominees to 10 from the usual 5. For that I have no idea who to root for partly because I love all the movies I've seen in there. There is this part of me though that wants Up to win it because it would be historical as it is an animated film, and there hasn't been an animated film nominated for Best Picture since Beauty and the Beast. And of course I just love Pixar and the animation art form (it's not a genre!!!).

Oscars truly are snobs. How can Harry Potter get a nod for best cinematography but not Transformers 2? When those helicopters crashed in the desert, they were amazing cinematic achievements.

And the only reason why they increased the Best Picture noms to 10 and movies like District 9 are included is because they're trying to increase their crappy ratings. Nobody watches them because they never include mainstream popular movies in that category.

You see, "The Hurt Locker" should win, not one of those "500 Million Dollar" movies...
