Not bad actually. Course this was made before the actual wreck was discovered.

He was thinking in terms of a continuum of a tale laid in a world he had been building for many many years. I recommend reading The Silmarrillion for more background on his work as a start.

And, Harry, your constantly telling us when you first saw or read something, trying to sound like some hoary-headed old sage, is very getting laughably tiresome to those of us who actually HAVE been around for at least a half century! Since you were 12? When was that, like 8 years ago? And from the movies? Have you read the books? I have been reading and STUDYING Tolkien's work for almost 40 years. And by studying, I am not referring to just reading the books slowly, but actually scholarly study once I was in college. . . which, oh by the way, was before you were even born!

i think of the hobbit as a hobbit walking around middle earth having adventures. Then later his son leads a band of merry men to destroy the ring

so i think of lotr as a sequel hides from BG

<Face palm> Well, first of all, Frodo is Bilbo's nephew, not his son. Second, . . . .awww, forget it, you wouldn't understand. . .

Oh jeez. Didn't he clearly call Bilbo his uncle in the films?

Assassins. A very well-executed action-thriller. Good performances all round, and Antonio Banderas is excellent in this one.

Saw the Green Hornet today. Thought it was pretty entertaining with some funny moments.
If there is any chance of a remake, would be cool if they give it a Dark and Serious approach to it.

Terminator 2 Judgment Day on Skynet Blu-Ray: I own both the blu-ray and the ultimate edition DVD, one of my faves since i saw it in theaters when i was 9 years old and saw it 4 times, i loved every minute of it and it looks great in it's new Skynet Blu-Ray.

Saving Private Ryan on Blu-Ray: Modern classic, saw it 3 times in theaters.
