but kung fu hustle is a spoof. Dragonball may not even be a comedy. Dragon Wars wasn't a comedy but I laughed every time I saw the trailer..... then I cried.
"...my heart is turned to stone; I strike it, and it hurts my hand..."
When Dragon Ball begun on the Weekly Jump magazine, it was surely a comedy.
All Jump mangas gradually become fighting tournament stories at the end for some reasons.
I love Kung Fu Hustle. If Stephen Chow shoots DB, it'd be awesome.![]()
Kung Fu Hustle is a cool movie! It's a mix of those old 60's and 70's kung fu movies and a bit of Looney Toons thrown in.
Comparing it to Dragon Ball for me is a bad thing. I can't stand DB, I could never get into it even when it was a big deal with everyone back when I was in high school. Just never appealed to me.
I like KFH and Shaolin Soccer. I think they are fun movies.
I like when those two blind minstrels play their instrument while using it as a weapon against the 3 good guys. Probably my favorite scene (among many) in the movie.
I have no clue what Dragonball is about. (sans what I've seen from ads and such)
Told you guys the only thing keeping me from being Glim in Stephen Chow. That man is the shit. The shings he came up with for Kung-Fu Hustle is AMAZING. Frog Style? Wow. That was a great film. I want him to do some american martial art flick. Or an english film besides DBZ.
The only thing worse than stupid people are stupid people who bother me...

OOOOOOoooooooo, dragonball z!!!!!!!!yes!!!!!I loved kung fu hustle except the cartoon like parts....it did make it fun!! I think that style of movie making Chow used would apply to dragonball z!!when you mention it.but by itself as a spoof between good and evil??kinda threw me off the first time i watched it.

Uh could this be at times like when he gets the fat lips from being bitten by the snake? For me the goofy parts where the most funniest - the scene where the woman is chasing Chow and he goes under the bus and she... does her thang (don't want to spoil it) I was crying with laughter - I thought it was soo funny.
I love Stephen Chow/Kung fu/Shaolin Soccer and there where funny parts in DB (loved the episode with Ninja 'now-you-have-a-tail-like-me' Murasaki) so I would feel better about if Chow was involved.
I'm a huge DBZ freak! But a live action movie doesn't sit well with my Spark - it was done before and is terrible - hugely bloody awful!![]()

I loved all the funny parts, but they threw me off.I didn't expect a movie including comedic scenes.I thought this was about straight-up,unadulterated,kung fu fighting. The second time and third was funnier each time. The title to this thread is...I'm 5 minutes into kung fu hustle and that was about a month ago wasn't it?How long is the movie?
