To accomplish that, it'd have to be animated to some degree. Ain't no man....whether it'd be Bay/Spielberg, or whoever ain't takin' that route.

Beowulf was heavily animated, but durn wicked in 3D.

what are you talking about? the transformer's them selves are 3d rendered and digitally created with the most realistic possibilities in my opinion. The same level of craftmanship as Golum from LOTR. The textures used are incredible. So is the way they mix r/t video with a 3D environment.

It's fine the way it is.

Have you seen the new Beowulf? It is wicked, but very Shrek-like in animation.

Go see that and then judge for yourself.

What animation on Saturday mornings? Are there still cartoons on?

I'm so over the Saturday morning cartoons. The good days were when xmen, spiderman and transformers were on.

News from Bay himself, it will not be in 3D, it'll pioneer new technology and be the first thing in this universe to be presented in 4D! The fourth dimension is exactly what you think it is, boobies and tires being flung right off the screen at your face! Watch out!

Well, James Cameron is working on the first high budget live action movie adaptation of the japanese manga/anime Battle Angel Alita and in various interviews he stated that the movie will filmed with a new 3D technology at insane frame rates. I only hope the rumors telling that the fight scenes will not be full of blood but that would be replaced with blue blood are not true, otherwise instead of delivering an excellent adaptation like he did the best Aliens sci-fi horror movie in the Alien saga, he would end up delivering a poor attempt. Battle Angel Alita/Gunm is a story full of blood, splatter effects, violence and gore, if they tone it down it will fail.
Anyway, back to the technology side of things, the Alita movie could turn out to be a tough competition for Transformers 2 , I hope ILM will be able to improve CGI even more and that an higher budget will give way longer scenes than on the first movie, however if James Cameron promises turn out to be true then it could not be that simple to match Battle Angel Alita CGI effects. We will see which production will be the best, what is for sure is that both movies are highly likely to become blockbusters and sci-fi classics.

Guess its a mood thing -- sets the tone for the rest of the week (doesn't take much to make me happy).
Oh, those cartoons. Of course I watched them!

I did see Beowulf. I was slightly dis heartened by the pg 13 rating on it. Grendel was portrayed very well I thought. I still have problems with that kind of story telling. Its Kitch and to do something like a rendition of Beowulf with something Kitchie like fully 3D sort of cheapens it in my opinion. That and I was pissed off that they hid Jolie's nipples under that gold liquid.

Daharan, you a Terry Goodkind fan? I ask because your name is kinda like D'hara from his Sword Of Truth novels.

I did find it fascinating that it was PG 13. Also, there was nudity, but no nudity, you know what I mean?

And it was probably the goriest animated film I've seen. There's buzz it'll be nominated for an Academy Award in the best animated film category.

I wonder how would that be transferred to DVD, if it'd keep it's 3D quality.

As for TF2 in 3D, I would go for it if it weren't animated like Beowulf. If it had to be animated that way to get the 3D effect, no way.

yeah OmarB, but Daharan is also a city in the middle east.

I prefer the live action with the 3d transformer characters. I think its a much better way of telling a story, cause it still has elements of make believe in it but it also has elements which the viewer can relate to.

Question Re: Will Transformers 2 be in 3D?

Ok guys. I guess no one knows for sure if it will be 2D or 3D as of yet. Could the moderator please let me know if he/she knows if it will be 3D? I run a blog called MarketSaw and I have heard a rumor that it will be in 3D. My blog is all to do with 3D movies and technology - nothing else.

By the way, just because Beowulf is 3D and animated does not make ALL 3D movies animated! Please drop by my blog and read about it yourself here: http://marketsaw.blogspot.com/2007/1...g-to-ease.html

So if a senior admin could contact me with any details they have about the Transformers 2 movie and whether it will be 3D I would appreciate it a great deal!

    Seasons Greetings!

There is a differance between 2D and The 2007 Transformers movie. Lol. We do have depth perception, in my opinion, going to 4D would be a bit too overboard. Normal film is awesome enough as it is, dont want to Overkill.
