"Balloon Boy" Case Confirmed to be a Hoax

Anybody been following this on the news about how this father thought his 6-year-old got stuck in a some science project balloon thing and turned out to be hiding in the attic? Well guess what? The parents completely made the whole thing up for publicity.

US balloon boy case 'was a hoax'

A US sheriff said the case of six-year-old Falcon Heene who was believed to be adrift in a hot air balloon, prompting a major alert, was a hoax.

Sheriff Jim Alderden said the parents of the boy were actors and had put on a "good show for us, and we bought it".

Falcon's disappearance became a media drama, but he was later found at home.

Sheriff Alderden said as yet there had been no arrests but possible charges included conspiracy and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Sick bastards. Exploiting their kid for fame.

I hope, besides the charges filed, that they bill these narcissistic, child-exploiting idiots for the costs of all that emergency response. These people love attention. The ONE good thing is that their creditability is shot, they will never be able to play these attention-getting games with the media and the public again.:deadhorse1:

Ugh. I live in Colorado, so I've heard more than enough about this. I can't believe it. Who in their right mind would do that just to land a reality TV show?

How sick is that? The poor children. Are these parents not ashamed? Only so that they become famous, organize one circus. In addition, something like that is not witty, above all if it is about the life of a child. When the family was in a talk show and the boy has arisen and stopped no more, there the parents have not had the idea yet sometimes to finish the conversation and to help the child. Such idiots!
