I doubt Michael wants to devote the rest of his career to Transformers. I think #3 is the perfect time to stop with the franchise and perhaps reboot it in 5-10 years. But that's just my opinion.

Reboots? No reboots. Transformers 4,5,6 must move forward in the future.. showing the son of Sam and Mikaela during his path to become an Headmaster and help Autobots.
Obviously it's highly unlikely that Michael Bay would continue directing the second trilogy simply because he wouldn't have time to direct any other movie genre if that the case.
Maybe Transformers4 could be directed by Steven Spielberg himself unless Bay and Spielberg will select another director able to continue to direct the franchise with a proper style.
Unless Hasbro CEO goes insane in 2012 they should re-new the agreements with Spielberg and Bay as executive producers for movies and main investors in the franchise, even if none of the two would direct the movies.

Mr. Bay may end his trilogy, but that doesn't mean there won't be more TF films made. And they don't nessarly have to be a reboot. There could be a series of trilogies like they did with Star Wars and what they are doing with the Terminator Franchise.

^ Yes. He has other stuff he wants to do, other projects he wants to pursue. So if he wants to take a "break" after TF3, I think that's great. Other directors may have a go at TF in the interim, or he may come back to it. It sorta depends on what TF3 is like, how it does, how it ends...

No way, not 5 or 10 years. Pick it right up , especially if it's a cash cow for Paramount. If Bay decides to stop, just hand the next one off to a new team. Money is no longer an issue/worry with these films. The question would be , who would make a film equal to or better than a Bay TF film? It would have to be somebody pretty big time and no less.

Jon Favreau(sp). He did do an excellent job with Iron Man. I could see him doing Transformers.
