looks a bit cool, but in the movie it might seem to be a bit over the top...
Should be a giant ass truck or something instead. I think I have seen a drawing of such a truck turning into a transformer....

He would look so gigantic and signalize brute force, just like Grimlock

I suppose that when talking about the character Grimlock you're talkingabout an autobot with somewhat the same personality as the cartoon incarnation? This as his altmode? Fine by me, we must keep every animal, insectoid-characters as far away from movie 2 as possible. Scorponock did serve what purpose?

Scorponok wasn't in the movie that long....maybe like ten minutes tops.

He's very stealthy, but not as deadly as say Starscream, devastator, and other decepticons.

Problem being, There's not much to that truck than the engine and wheels. Case in point.

This and one of those big drills (an earth..something)they use in deep underground tunneling would be fantastic in a TF movie. Constructicons unite!!!! or what ever. ; )

Am I the only one here who doesn't see the need for Grimlock? Sure if you can come up with a believable backstory for fitting him in the sequal then sure bring him through but as of now I don't see the need for him making an appearance

He's not my first choice, but he is a fan favorite (for various reasons). I'm a fan of the comics version, but I'd rather see Jetfire, or Arcee, or Kup, someone who adds an interesting dynamic to the group (and some more variety to the vehicle forms)

replace Kup with Prowl and Grimlock with Ultra Magnus then i'd agree

i can see it in my head.. two or three deceptiocons chasing bumblebee, and they end up in a mine area or something. Bumblebee stops by this huge truck, and the decepticons transform and say: "no place to run now autobot"....
And then, the truck behind bumblebee starts to transform into this huge robot, it activates its weapon systems, locks on to the decepticons, and with the same deep base-filled voice as megatron says "Me....GRIMLOCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
    That would be so cool.

Ok.... Just an idea but in TF1 the All spark is said to be carbondated around 10,000 BC. What if when Prime sent the All Spark through the worm hole it went back in time and space to Earth before man and landed on Earth just before the Dinosaurs died out. As it was on earth it started to change Earth's life into new robotic life. Scanning some Dino's to turn into new life. And you got Dinobots. But then the meteor hit and killed everything and started the ice age.

The All Spark as well as the Dinobots were frozen. Now the Dinobots still have yet to be found but when they are they are as stupid as what they were created from and the Autobots with Prime and the Matrix gives them a spark thous makeing them semi-smart with some speech and are inducted into the Autobots. At the end of the movie the Dinobots that do live like Grimlock take on new forms to better fit in.

I just see the same problem here with transformers as the x-men string of movies... too many characters with stories already developed and such little screen time. Gambit should have been in x-men so I say Grimlock one way or another should be in Transformers. I don't think that he needs to be a dinobot though.

But the Ice age was over before the Allspark even landed. And Dinosaurs were extinct long before the Ice age.

I loved the first movie.I didnt even have a prob with megatron being a jet. I even let the reference to devastator being a tank slide; though me and everyone I know noticed this typo, and as a fan of the new movie as well as the cartoon and I did not appreciate a popular name being thrown on some random robot. if you cant do devastator you cant do devastator just use him as a reference. please do not turn my dinobots into gmc cars for the sake of making money or placing a popular name on just some character for rememberence sake. think of a new name that sounds good. If this isn't going to be the case void this message as will self destruct before the second movie is released.just remember this If you can't do/make/ or fit grimlock in you can't fit him in. but please dont add his name for the sake of adding his name.

hey bee would you of still seen x-men if say wolverine was called gambit for the sake of havving gambit in the film,or say proffessor x being called colossus? Ithink the film woulda flopped once word got out the names were all messed up. cause lets face it,though there are alot of people that see these movies but its the fans that get the hype/buzz on the net going out,not to mention convincing friends and family to see these movies. I know I personally saw trans alone, then took my girl, then took my mom, once she liked it and thought it would be ok for my nephew. I got my brother to view it which he then said yhea it was okay for my 3 yr old nephew to see. so its a fan like me,I personally spent 139 dollars alone taking my family to see the movie thats not counting my ps 3 game and dvd.

Hmm, just decided to look in this thread because I think the Diobots are kinda lame. Anyways, that picture of the proposed Grimlock pretty much spits in the face of incognito, don't notice me, robots in disguise thing. That's just my opinion, but it's pretty hard to ignore that thing.

Well Grimlock is somewhat like Megatron

That is he is too proud and considers beneth him that he should disquise

Besides that thing would be much better then a T Rex and he would have about the same size as Prime

    - Edited for spelling and grammar.

If you say so, I've never seen Grimlock as some sort of prideful robot, I was him pretty much as a big dumb lout who didn't know any better.

Probably not. And yes, it would have flopped had those changes take place.

But Singer probably has too much admiration for the original comics, and Stan Lee was on board, and he probably wouldn't have let that happen.

    *shrugs*

    Way off topic though....

Me and my fiance probably spent over $150 seeing Transformers....three times in regular theaters and once in IMAX, and then the merchandise (which I've mainly bought), the movies...the books...etc. etc. etc.

    Thank God for IMAX.

As for Grimlock, I agree, he's just a dumb lout.
