Thread: Bay NEEDS to do Bad Boys 3!!!!!!!!!!

Default Bay NEEDS to do Bad Boys 3!!!!!!!!!!

Good god do I ever want him to direct a third Bad Boys movies with Will and Martin. Absolutely love these movies, they are the ultimate guy movies.

Just one suggestion if you do make it Michael...you gotta get Will Smith to own a Porsche Carrera GT in the movie. That F'n car woudl be off the chain in a high speed chase.

Come on Bay...you were born to do these Bad Boys movies and I'd be dissappointed if there wasn't a third. I seen BB2 three times in the theater alone.

Bad Boys 2 was disappointing compared to the first one. While I loved The Island, which has been bashed for no real reason.
I prefer Mr.Bay to put all his effort into delivering a serie of outstanding Transformers movies, at least both Transformers 2 and 3 before switching to other projects. So that he could have achieved delivering his first trilogy. Yes, you could tell.. "he could just do Bad Boys 3 and you got the first trilogy by Mr.Bay" .. and I would reply that Transformers was the best Mr.Bay movie to date, it has been a huge success worldwide and it needs to be developed further and with higher production budgets and even better CGI effects than the competition. And competition is going to get tough in the next couple years with upcoming japanese anime based/derived adaptations of Robotech,Battle Angel Alita,Dragonball,Voltron and others. So in order to ensure an even greater success to the next Transformers 2 and 3 movies it's needed that Mr.Bay will work harder than before to deliver longer, more action packed and with better CGI and character development movies so that at least the Transformers trilogy will remain a huge classic and be rated as high as Star Wars movies or Lord of the Rings ones.
Transformers original manga/anime series have all the elements needed to deliver the best sci-fi trilogy adaptation to date. Transformers by Mr.Bay was an introduction for the general public to the Transformers saga, world, myth and concept. Now it's the really hard part that Mr.Bay needs to achieve, make the next two movies so excellent and better than the first one so that the trilogy becomes perfect and it could be developed further with new movies in the future anyway (and not overdo it, put the right amount of effort but not risk having characters with no souls.. if you understand what I mean, which is something it could easily happen if too much effort is put in a project and too many people start forcing changes to it, losing the overall vision).

Exactly. While the first one wasn't that great, part 2 was fucking awesome and the best and funniest action buddy movie ever. Can't wait for an (unannounced) Bad Boys 3.

wow. funny how i couldn't get any responses to my Bad Boys 3 thread i started last week except, "i could live without it".....now everyone is dying for it? And no, the 2nd one blows the first outta the water. The action is far better, and it's far funnier. The "Reggie/First Date" scene is funnier than the entire first film, and i used to be a die-hard fan of part 1.

Wingzero - I would much rather see Bay finish a trilogy that is essential his own. Transformers has been around for decades.

I saw BB2 three times in the theater alone.
so did i, but not alone any of the times. At the 2nd viewing of it, my friend at the time was just bitching about the length of the film "ughh DAN is this ALMOST over?!" she groaned.

Transformers was considered a little kid story until Bay and Spielberg turned it into a realistic high budget feature film with the best top-notch CGI to date.
And if they don't put more effort into ensuring Transformers gets a trilogy done they could lose money and general public interest. Lord of the Rings was well known, it's based on a classic but not ancient story, still until the high budget movie trailer got released no one would have thought it could have been such a huge success. The same is happening with Transformers and in order to ensure an even higher success than the first movie the trilogy must be completed in a short period of time, if they stop at the second movie or delay the movies too much it would be no good. Lord of the Rings movies were released in a few years. Spiderman movies have been released in a few years as well, and yes the comics existed for decades as well but no other adaptation until now was able to attract so many people.

Maybe once Mr.Bay will have completed the first Transformers trilogy he could switch to both Bad Boys 3 and The Island 2...

    Terminator - 1984. T2 - 1991.

The length of time they wait to do them,[Bad Boys - 1995 & Bad Boys 2 - 2003], has nothing to do with the quality of work put out.

no one would have thought it could have been such a huge success.
seriously? no one would of guessed LOTR would be a success? It's easily one of, if not the most famous series of books in the past century. Yea, i guess it we can assume it was gonna flop prior to the trailer. Right.

but no other adaptation until now was able to attract so many people.
Are you referring to Trans or Spidey? Because all 3 Spiderman films have outgrossed Trans.

I'm going to give the same answer as I gave in the other thread and that was the "I could survive without it"-one Bad Boys and BBII are cool films, but enough is already. Besides, let's say Bay's next two movies are Transformers 2 and 3. I'm very interested in what he would do after those and the last thing I want is him to announce BB3. That would be predictable and disappointing. It would probably be the first Bay-film I wouldn't be looking forward to.

I liked the Chemistry between the two main characters and would love to see another one made. But only if Bay does it again.

I would definitely love to see Bay, Bruckheimer, Smith & Lawrence get back together for BB3. It's a great excuse for nothing but action.

Bad Boys 2 re-defined action for me. I cant watch action in films the same way anymore.

Yeah, I'm the same now. BB2 is the most awesome action flick I've ever seen. I can't wait for a HD release.

I also would love a BB3 (and I posted a question to the Ask Michael May forum when this forum opened. Never got an answer

It was actually question #1 to Mr Bay...

I like BB1, but i still cannot grasp this concept of it being better than 2. I mean there are those who perfer T1 over 2, Alien over Aliens, but i just don't see how. I've said this already but the "Reggie" scene of part 2 is FAR funnier than the entirety of the first movie, and i find the first movie really funny. But 2, without ANY action scenes, is STILL a damn great movie, based on the comedic value alone.

I will say this, i'm not sure i want it to just be a Will/Martin film again, i think they really do need to cut Martin out of the film and give his part to someone new, give Smith something new to play off of, not just the "family man tired of the gun fights" type character Martin mastered.

    Yeah, good post.

The whole T1 v T2 is more on budget and "bigness". Likewise with Alien v Aliens.

I mean Aliens FFS was a remake of Alien just with just more of everything. The plots were identical. Distress call answered by Ripley. Come to find distress-ees taken care of by the Aliens. Fight. Have to escape before a nuclear explosion destroys everything. Ripley goes back to save a Cat/child, and escapes just in the nick of time before the nuclear explosion. Unknownst to Ripley an naughty Alien sneaked aboard the ship, and she has to fight it, and at the end, blows it out of the airlock and then goes into hypersleep. Which plot was I describing? Alien or Aliens? No idea? Basically the difference was in Alien she rescued a cat, and in Aliens she rescued a child. They are both goddamn the same, James Cameron just put more aliens and people in Alien(s).

BB2 on the other hand. Wow, what an absolute ride. Like Superfreak says take away the action and it is still an awesome comedy. I mean that whole scene in the video store where they are talking about what Smith did to Lawrences behind and the after affects of it makes me laugh just thinking of it. And that is just one funny bit. And the action in it. My god, that freeway car chase was superb. And that was just one of the chases.

BB1 was a good cop action/drama/comedy on the level of Lethal Weapon. BB2 was a whole level above. It was not just a remake/"biggening" of the BB1 plot. It was just fucking awesome.

i will agree with most of what you said, but i think Cameron made a war movie out of Aliens, and Scott made a horror film. To me Aliens is a badass friggin ride, i watch it ALL the time. The humor is far better in Aliens, i don't remember anything in Alien being as funny as any line out of Bill Paxton's mouth in Aliens. I agree its basically the same plot, but from such a different angle the film feels entirely different, and that's why its rightfully refered to as 1 of the best sequels that will ever get made.

    Also, what is "Aliens FFS"

But back to Bay - BB3, i would rather it not be made anymore. I've changed my stance bc i don't want the ball to get dropped ala Alien 3.

WTF. If any, Will should be cut out. Martin is the funnier guy by far.
But besides that. Just have both of them again. They're perfect.

    FFS meant "for fooks sake"...

And regarding Alien 3, it had it's merits. But I would not worry even slightly about that with BB3. If Bay was making it, or at least in charge, it would rock. If you check up on the history of Alien 3 is was an absolute studio farce, and was amazing it came out as good as it did (thanks to Fincher). They didn't even have a real story, they went through several directors, but the film got made as they had promised a coming sequel. And the even advertised - and I actually recall seeing the cinema teaser for it. I didn't know until seeing the DVD documentaries that the teaser was done at a state where they didn't have a script of director, but had a release date...

once again showing that hollywood just wants it in theatres, they give no regard to the quality of product being released, just that the advertising is heavy enough to guarantee a big opening, then a 99% drop in the box office the next weekend. The Dir.Cut of Alien 3 is alot better, but um, still didn't need to be made, or at least, forcefully rushed out.

Bad Boys is Bays baby, he will never leave it out to dry.
He is more then likely planning on installing a third one. Look at the possibilities why it isn't announce.

The success of Transformers: I know for a damn fact the studios are offering Bay a ton of money and pressure to get this film done. When something is successful, it will be more then meets the eye, lol. So they have Bay locked in for a sequal, even announcing it during the movies campiagn in theaters.

    Next: The Will Smith sega:
Two movies, I AM LEGEND and HANCOCK, and I know he has a few more movie schedule, so Bay can't do a BB3 without Smith. It would probably take about 8-10 weeks of shooting, and thats time out of Smith schedule, and it looks like Smith will have another franchise under his belt with Hancock.

Martin....no comment, he should be AVALIBLE !!!

    LOL

This is the reason why I preferred BB1. It's smaller!

Despite the stupid amount of logic flaws, the raw shooting mixed with the stylised shots, the small locations, and no over the top actions sequence/cgi made it believable to a certain extent. Reminds me of Lethal Weapon or Die Hard. Now when I sat in the cinema and saw Matrix style shots and then action scene after action scene after scene, I was like 'whoa! wtf! i'm all up for escapism but this is too much'. Pretty soon into the film I couldn't give a fuck about the characters. Just like with The Island, it started off awesome but 2 car chases later, 1 flying chase later, 1 falling off a skyscraper with a massive logo and helicopter later... I really couldn't give a fuck.

Yeah it's funnier than the first one, and each action scene is well done... but for me it was too much! It wasn't believable in the slightest and didn't feel like Bad Boys. It's fine when it's giant fucking robots because you accept that before the film has even started, but when it's 2 black cops in a hard ass Miami setting, there was no grit (except for a few notable moments).
I've always defended Michael Bay against attacks that his films are full of stupid explosions, girls in underwear and mindless characters... but then he made Transformers 2 and I conceded...

they may have a problem with bad boys 3. martin lawrence and will smith are now very big stars, they'll be demanding 50 million bucks each to get to star in another bad boys sequel.
