This is what many fans forget. Usually what's happened in previous writers strikes is that you end up with poorly scripted movies (EX Star Trek 5) that bomb. Course, in this case ROTF was a success and I'm not saying it was poorly writen by no means. But one or two things could have been refined.
Shia's injury was also a factor. This could have killed the movie before it was even released ( I still think its a bit odd that this site shut down around the time rumors were going around Shia getting a finger removed). If I remember correctly he came back againts doctors orders to finish the film.
Is two Years enough to make a film? Usually it is. What I'd like to know is what changed Mr Bay's mind? Did he just say "Screw it. I'll rest when I'm Dead" or was he given an ultimatum?
