That's pretty cool. I wish the movie tickets around here looked that nice.

Oh man this is one of my most anticipated movies of the year and the new Freddy looks fantastic, but Englund will still live on in our hearts as Freddy.

But will this remake will up to the great horror genre remakes like The Thing, The Fly and others? or maybe to TCM as PD's best remake?

I Found Clips from the new movie on the same site.

From what I've seen, It looks great. For me this is probably my most anticipated Horror film of 2010.

Rotten Tomatos didn't give it a good review, but then the majority of horror films don't get good reviews from them anyway. I've learned from experience not to pay attenton to reviews. It depends on the individual. You will either like a movie or not.

    Rotten Tomatoes?

I totally forgot this site even existed. I wonder if people still take it seriously?

    I know I don't.

Neither do I. And no one else should.

They gave Bad Boys II a 24%. I feel that's all one needs to know.

That goes to show you they wouldn't know a good movie from a hole in the ground.

I probably won't be able to see it in theaters because blood and gore cause me to faint. Either way, I hope nothing but success for it and the chance to gain a new legion of fans.

I just saw it. Absolutely HATED it. Quite possibly one of the worst remakes ever. Completely unscary, relying solely on "made ya jump!" scenes. The acting was atrocious, and Freddy was nowhere near what we got from Robert Englund. His one-liners were awful, borderline Ben Stiller-ish.

Oh, and without spoiling it... his background sucks now.

Just saw the new A Nightmare On Elm Street movie, it was Ok but it was not as good as the original version, and Robert Englund will always be the good original Freddy Krugar.

This is what I keep hearing, and not just from critics either.

Saw it this afternoon. Enjoyed it. Not as bad as others would have you believe. Don't see what the fuss is about with his "new" origin, he's still very much a monster. I thought Haley did great in those big(and eventually campy) shoes he had to fill. Slick update. Original, New Nightmare, and this remake for my money.

Probably not gonna be the popular opinion to like this movie (matters not), but I have to strongly disagree with the idea that this is one of the worst remakes ever.

I thought it was fair but at least it made Freddy menacing again instead of comical.

There are better horror movie remakes like The Thing, The Fly, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978), Crazies, Hills Have Eyes etc. than this.

Really creepy, dark and overall a more serious movie with a terrific Jackie Earle Haley ( and Kyle Gallner, I really liked the guy ). I've seen the original and it was good, but let's face it - it's not the 80s anymore and the remake was designed to appeal to the demographic going to see a horror movie in 2010, and in my view it succeeded.

Personally if I have to pick right now, I'd pick the remake. Many reasons for that, but I don't wanna waste our time explaining it all and I don't want to spoil the movie for those who haven't seen it.

Sam Bayer, you certainly did a good job with your first movie and congratulations - "...a new record for a horror flick."

Wrong Megatron42, i urge you to watch John Carpenter's The Thing and David Cronenberg's The Fly! those are the two best genre remakes and done by artists who had a love and passion for the creaky old imperfect movies yet those are superior to the original movies.

    Rent those.
