So I see Mattel has joined the "toy movie" bandwagon.

I can predict right now how this will turn out. It'll be a chick flick for 8 year old girls that if you change the title and the character's names, you'll never suspect it was promoting dolls.

lol, a friend of mine would respond to this by saying "No movie needs to be made," but that's usually in response to some fanboy pissed about a horror remake in the works. In this case, however, this movie really, REALLY doesn't need to be made.

I am NOT a Barbie fan myself, but there are A LOT of rabid adult Barbie collectors, and they will like it. They scare me, frankly. I didn't even care for the dolls when I was a kid! But the collectors are crazy, and unfortunately, they have a lot of money to spend on them. Did you know that there is a Barbie Fashion Show as part of New York Fashion Week? No lie, real models wearing full size mockups of this year's Barbie fashion collection. I find this troubling somehow.

Wow, while I can understand the collectors and their ‘Dolls’, I just can’t fathom the thought of having a fashion show devoted to ‘Barbie’ with real-size mock-ups --- That’s just a little disturbing in my opinion. But then again, I guess it is simply promoting the products to boost sales and get more money huh? Wouldn't it be nice if everything didn't revolve around money
