Wanna see the new Knight Rider car?

So, I'll just post the link and we'll discuss in a bit. I personally think it's a great choice of car. The Pontiac is no longer in production so I don't get why people are complaining about the new car, unless they want an old car in there.

Oh, and this car being chosen is not without president. In the short lived series Team Knight Rider this car was also used.

Yeah that is a poor choice. if your going to make a new knight rider it should at least be a car that inspires awe.

i've been sitting on this news for a while. not that i care that they've deviated from the first KITT heavily with inclusion of the mustang. it's the "been there done that" feeling that comes over me when i see this. (they could've at least gone the Giugiaro route with something a little rarer)

its not even stealthy with the light colored racing stripes and alloys. sub-par choice (just me of course) for what is supposed to be a high tech Knight Industries Three Thousand.

i've been disappointed with the vehicle choices since Knight Rider 2000, when they used a bright red (albeit cool on its own) Firebird concept. So essentially, Team KR and now this is no less disappointing.

while i think the mustang looks awesome, and i'm sure will be no problem to non 'knight rider' fans, i do agree with r-type in that i think they should have gone a more rare route, or just something you wouldn't expect. Although at the time the knight rider car was one of the biggest slick roadsters. That's kind of what the mustang is now, so it makes sense.

But does anybody really care enough about 'knight rider' to be THAT pedantic on the matter of the car.

But let's be honest...the car will work depending on how the show is made. It's a simple as that.

This new Knight Rider will be a complete rip off of Transformers and it pisses me off.

As for the choice of the car, I feel that while it might not inspire the awe that the first car did this guy's car's gotta blend in on the street. Does a guy working in secret really need his supercar looking like a supercar? Might raise some eyebrows, or at least be memorable enough for the bad guys to start calling each other and say "Hey, look out for that dude in the (insert car name here)."

It woulda been cooler as a Corvette I think, keep it American.

Seriously though. I didn't necessarily mean supercar per se, just something slightly stealthier than a Shelby with stripes. Just a little rarer than your run of the mill sportscar, etc. Kind of like the way the Giugiaro Mustang (hypothetically) in a dark color would elicit a double take before you realize its not your regular Mustang. (for me it would) Hope that made sense.

Eh, don't get it twisted either, I'm not that broken up about it. I loved the crappy tv show as a kid and all, but it was still crappy. Maybe this time around it will be slightly better.

But seriously I hear what you are saying. I understand that point of view that the car has to stand out. I just don't think it should be a "Holy crap did you see that awesome car drive by ... wait, did that thing just jump?"

I'm gonna say it though, this is gonna blow I think. There are very few shows that are brought back and are good, Star Trek did it a couple times, Battlestar Galactica right now is greater than they could have dreamed back at the launch. Then there's The Bionic Woman, oh that show's so bad I watch it like it's a comedy.

Fact is, is there anything left to say in the KR universe? At least in Star Trek there were other ships, missions, races, discoveries. What could possibly be left to be said in KR?

I don't really car what car it is.. But a Mustang is the coolest and best looking car anyway (pretty much any version), so ya, good stuff.
What exactly do you mean by keeping it american, since when is a mustang not american? or did i just miss something (not a car guy)?

I said keep the car American because in the discussion on AIC and a couple other places I've seen people are suggesting European companies and Japanese Companies for cars that look like modern extensions of the Trans Am theme. I say, why not a Corvette if you need a car with a pointy front and a high back.

Why not use the Koenisegg from the new movie they are supposed to be making? i think that looks soo much better. KITT is supposed to be futuristic, and the Mustang is based off of the classic design. Seems a bit odd to me.
