    Default It's over

I have officially walked away from my job for the last time. I worked at Cold Stone Creamery for 5 years. I started when I was just getting out of my Freshman year of college and ended up staying 2 years past my graduation. I was so unhappy there, but I had to stay because jobs are hard to find. This is the same place that spawned the gu that turned in my facebook to my boss just because he was mad that I disagreed with him.

I start my new job sometime this week. (Not sure when yet because my background check isn't finished. I know I'm clean.) I now work with the school systems child care. I have been stationed at a Catholic school, which is okay because that is my religion. I will understand come of their homework for that kind of stuff. I work with kids before and after school everyday. I get to play with them, tutor them in reading and writing, and make sure that they are safe. I could be happier. I'm where I need to be until I break into the writing field. Who knows? Maybe this will inspire me to go back for my teachers license. Heck, I've already met some of the kids. They think I'm funny because I like Transformers.

I haven't smiled so much in years.
They call me Ratchet Girl for a reason. Sometimes Skids girl.
    Yeah, I'm a girl...SO FREAKING WHAT????

Good for you! There are few things more of a drag than working with jerks...

Congrats Tay! I think you would be the type to work well with kids. Now when you said "They think I'm funny..." you mean that in a good way, right?

I hope so. They were shocked that I liked "boy stuff." I always forget how sexist kids are sometimes.

Congrats! Kids will soon learn that the girl who loves Transformers (=you) is cool.

(I've got some good news happening on my end, too, but it's too early to discuss and I didn't want to hog your spotlight. )

Yeah, but that tanked harder than the movie Bandslam. Turns out they were looking for someone to work in the Starbucks in the Barnes and Noble. I would have been right back where I started.

I'm going in to help set up today. It's going to be just great!

Have fun with that! Be grateful, because with the economy the way it is, simply having a job has been difficult for many.

School hasn't even started yet. We are just setting up the area for the kids to go in.

My sister bought me a cool lanyard to put my badge on. It's pink with little skull and crossbones symbols all over it. The skulls have little heart shaped eye sockets. It's so cute!

That lanyard sounds cool. And well, guess you'll be more tired at the end of the day, but indeed, you can be happy you have a job
