Again, I was talking about the time between takes. you know, the time when the camera is not rolling. as in the stuff we will never ever see. The time taken to reset shots, move locations, or change scenes. the time taken to review footage and look at storyboards. I made NO comment on Bay's pacing.yes, but Peter Jackson was not trying to make his armies diverse. It seemed Transformers was. when you give soldiers names, they are part of the cast, and must stand out form the extras.
Who ever said that was Bonecrusher? Wow, when I watch TTT, Peter Jackson made some big mistakes because most of the Uraki looked the same as they did in FOTR!
As for concentrating on certain characters and expanding their screen time, it's just a preference, but not a mistake. And as for small continuity errors like doors not closed (I loved the one where someone bitched that Mikaela had her shoes in her hands when running away from Alice, heaven forbid if a character does something off the screen) but that aside, TDK had twice as many of those errors/plausibility scenarios, but yet people seemed to have no problem over looking that.
As for the little things, I don't sweet them too much, but they are mistakes. period.
And screen time has little to do about how much a character reveals to the audience. I agree that some may not care if the robots had depth, but when I go to a movie about Autobots fighting Decepticons, that's what I expect to see. That's not what I got.
Bringing back to the topic at hand, I went to see District 9 to see a human connect to a misunderstood and ill-treated alien race, and that's what I got.
