It is the best Sci-Fi film this year.

    SPOILER ALERT!!
That Mech-Suit reminded me of Transformers.

    In your opinion, yes.

Besides, I haven't seen ST, so it doesn't qualify for best movie I've seen this year.

I am dying to see that one, but I'm not much for blood and gore. I have panic attacks if I see too much.

Wow, I just saw the movie, and all I can say is...wow, just wow.

No I'm kidding, I got more to say, lol.

Now I'm a very strange guy, constant use of the F word and exploding bodies do not phase me one bit, but I always cringe when I see someone pull their finger nails out. ALWAYS DO! :lol

But other than that, the movie was superb, very different, thought provoking, and...well I just freakin' loved it. I really cared for the aliens, especially the part when they were going to make Wikus shoot the alien. I felt sorry for them. I loved Christopher and his son, my favorite characters.

Oh, the fingernail part got me too!

I wanted to cry at the end. I wish Wikus was able to tell his wife what had happened to him. Maybe she would have excepted him.

That I dunno. I mean, with his appearance (and possibly not being able to speak English anymore) now there's no chance she'd believe him, plus adding to the fact that she was completely unaware of the experiments MNU was trying to do on him and stuff. He'd more than likely come across as a crazy "prawn" to her should he go knock on her front door and say "Hi, it's me, Wikus."

One thing I am confused about is how he could possibly change back. In order for that to happen he would have to have some human DNA inside of him somewhere. Because once he's fully transformed you think he would have completely lost his humanity by then. I just don't see how he could instantly turn back into the old Wikus again. I mean, even if they could get him to turn back into human, he might look like some other guy.

I would also like to see a plot line where Christopher and Wikus helps the other aliens get the heck outta District 10 and head on back home.

The problem is, I don't see how all of this would translate into a "District 10" film. Though I'd love a happy ending, I think the end of District 9 left you hanging for a reason, and fixing all of the problems in a sequel would sorta cheapen the franchise and take away the mystery. I think we outta let fan fiction take care of that.

His actions would speak louder than words. He could making something for her right in front of her. I think that was the point of the flower. To show that he was still him. I think he might be able to speak English as well. It changed your DNA, not your memory. He only understood some of what they said and never spoke any of it. He might have retained that ability.

I don't know why I'm thinking of this.

lol, it's okay to think it. And in fact you make a very great point. But It'd be awfully hard for him to present himself in front of her, it would take time. But maybe she'll see why those lies and tabloids have been made about him, to hide the shocking truth.

We'll have to see. The movie just came out.

I've seen it 3 times. No joke.

I really want Michael Bay to see it. It'll teach him something about movie budget if he really cares about telling a great story.

    :wtf

What does a movie's budget have to do with a great story?

Anyways, what added in alot of the costs for Transformers, is for starters, the location shots. Then, the big assembled cast, directors, writers, producers, all the automobiles that were needed for various shots. And then the CGI, most of the major fighting in District 9 was done from a distance. In Transformers, you had an all and all out brawl between 3 gigantic robots, in a forest setting, intermingling with Sam. The CGI of the Transformers transforming, like Ironhide and Optimus Prime, in close up, is also tedious work, and expensive to generate.

Now, what you should be doing is directing this comment to the director of GI Joe. 175 million they spent, and on what? Cast is mostly no names. Wow, you got a Wayan brother and a Quaid brother, and a cameo from Brenden Fraser. The CGI? Doesn't exactly raise the eyebrows in wonderment.

But anyways, after watching the Avatar trailer, now I know why the people at comic con were more impressed with District 9. I sure do hope they bring out a District 10.

All I was saying is that you can make a thrilling, action-packed and emotional story for just 30 million bucks.(They made it look like 100 million) Unfortunatly, Bay and Co. had to spend 196 million bucks to get to the level of entertainment that District 9 got to so easily.

I think the problem comes form Bay's OCD about deadlines. I think everyone was too eager to see ROTF come out on it's release date, no matter the cost.
