    Default John Hughes Dies

One of the greatest directors/producers and script writers of some of the most beloved films in the 80's and early 90's has died today from an apparent heart attack. He was only 59.

This man was responsible for such memorable movies like
    The Breakfast Club
    Weird Science
    National Lampoon's Vacation series
    Ferris Bueler's Day Off
    Beethoven
    16 Candles
    Uncle Buck
    and the Home Alone movies.

RIP! You will be missed, but not forgotten.

If you've seen the Breakfast Club, you know about the last shot of the movie. That's what I imagined after I heard the news.

I've yet to see it and I'm probably going to rent it this weekend if I can find it at Blockbuster.

I love Beethoven and Home Alone. Those were the movies of my childhood.

Yeah, I was looking up John Hughes long list of accomplishments, and I was delighted to see Home Alone and Beethoven on there. He really knew how to tap in that child/teen like feeling just right. Wow, I hate saying this, but I'm actually more bummed about John dyeing than Michael Jackson. I guess his movies really struck more of a chord with me than I realized.

Had a definite wtf moment when I heard. A week prior I had pulled all of my John Hughes movies (Sixteen Candles, TBC, Weird Science, Ferris) to watch sporadically, as I do from time to time with a lot of other movies.

    In any case,

    RIP
