pre-ordered. i can not wait!
Did you ever compare an upscaled DVD on your PS3 to a Blu-Ray?
Did you ever watch the Transformers Blu-Ray that features a 35Mbps average bitrate encoded in H.264 ?
There is a huge difference between the two. The DVD can be upscaled as much as you want with the best possible algorithms at the highest precision but interpolation techniques are no magic and they can't give you back what the signal lost. You will never get the proper spatial and temporal resolution=visual details for your eyes/brain from a low quality version that any DVD can store due to its format limitations.
i just hope there are hours of behind the scenes footage
and directors cut of course![]()
Can someone tell me the difference between the theatrical cut and the imax version ? and witch version do you prefer ?

Aside from the scenes that were shot for IMAX (The Forrest Fight and Devastator), there were a few more punches thrown in the Forrest fight scene. I believe this scene was half a minute longer compared to the Theatrical Version.
As for which version I prefer, I had a better time at the IMAX version, so I would say this was my favorite version.
IIRC, Extended scenes in the IMAX by a few seconds here and there (example: little more footage in Egypt as Devs climbs the Pyramid) nothing at all that changes the movie. And certainly nothing extra in terms of the throwaway scenes added, like they did to TF1 for IMAX. (specific scenes left out of TF1's theatrical cut, Sam outside police station, Epps in Pawn shop)
Personal preference: The IMAX version of ROTF. Simply because of the footage filmed in IMAX format and the sound design. You got to see those scenes as the director intended. They (i.e. Forest, Egypt) open up and get noticably sharper/clearer. Otherwise, it could've gone either way, but I do hope they retain the aspect ratio switch ala' TDK's Blu-Ray. (as it has been reported)
*edit: Oops, IHB, beat me to the post.![]()
Thanks for the feedback, guys !

I liked the Transformers Bluray cover art waaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy better
they should have done like same thing. but who knows, maybe that cover art is only for UK release...![]()
I HATED TF1's Blu-Ray cover.....
Guys, I hate to say this, but I can almost guarantee this won't be released until sometime AFTER December 1st. Star Trek (which was released a month before TF2 in theaters) has the DVD/Blu-ray release on November 17th.
Paramount won't wait until next year to release it because they want TF2 under christmas trees this winter.
Basically I expect it to be released sometime within the first 2 weeks of December.
P.S. I expect Paramount to give a release date and full DVD/Blu-ray specs VERY soon.
Do you even know what Blu-ray is?
i pre-ordered mine...still don't know the date though
I would sure love it if Mike could get on and tell us.

I was at the Dayton Mall today and passed f.y.e. They had a small poster for pre-orders for Transformers Revenge of The Fallen with a date of October 20th.
Sorry that I was not able to get a picture. I don't know how to upload camera phone pictures to my PC despite being very technology savvy.
Heres a little something to back up razgriz21's earlier info.

Thanks for the link.
Really hope it is true. Going to see the movie one last (third) time in the first run theater.
I don't know if I will buy the two disk this time around. The last two disk was really disappointing.
"...my heart is turned to stone; I strike it, and it hurts my hand..."
Now what was so disappointing for the first Transformers movie 2-disc editions? The Blu-Ray version was excellent.
Transformers2 Blu-Ray will have a 3-disc Blu-Ray edition so it seems and that will be the IMAX enhanced release. The real disappointment would be if that version will just include IMAX scenes but still be the theatrical cut instead of an extended/director's cut with all usable finalized deleted scenes re-integrated for a longer runtime (obviously with added scenes dubbed in other languages and not available to the USA only like Watchmen where the director's cut was released for the US market only and no European versions have the extended scenes)

Dang, wish it was coming out on the rumored September 30th date. But whatever, picking up the Blu Ray for sure. I'll walk into the store in my Optimus Prime helmet when I pick it up.
......
You know what? For the sake of my dignity, I think I won't do that. LOL.
Fire up the popcorn maker, get your drink of choice, a Blu-Ray/PS3, and sit back for an early Halloween with The Fallen.
