    Default Transformers: RotF on DVD/Blu-Ray

    Hi Michael,

Will The Blu-ray have the shifting aspect ratios when it switches from 35mm to Imax.

They did this for the dark knight release and I thought it was great.

Are there any cool stuff that we can look forward to on the Blu-ray release.

    Thanks

"We're going to do a special IMAX SKU," said Bay, "where it'll open up for those scenes. You can see top to bottom."

For the Blu-Ray I hope it has a lot of Behind the Scenes! And The Making of Trans 2, a 2 disc set would be nice.

How about a 3 disc set? One disc for the extended Blu-ray IMAX ratio edition with commentaries, one disc for the Pre-Production and Filming stages(complete with concept art, early ideas for the script, and an on-set production diary of the ENTIRE shoot), and the third disc for a hugely detailed documentary on the Post-Production special-effects and CGI, plus stuff on Bay's mis-information campaign, test screenings and the world premieres.
    Now that I would tressure.

I really beg Mr. Michael Bay to re-integrate all the finalized deleted scenes for a Director's Cut/Extended Cut Blu-Ray disc release, not just the 2minutes approx of extra IMAX scenes runtime. In an interview appeared on blu-ray.com he stated that there are as much as 6-7 minutes of deleted scenes to be included in the disc release.. BUT please integrate them back in the movie for a longer cut.
Only Michael Bay and the production crew know what those scenes include but any bits and pieces would help the movie storytelling a lot because after having read the official movie novel written by Alan Dean Foster I can tell that there have been a lot, really too many cuts on the movie. The novel includes many more little scenes and details that I bet all fans and viewers would have loved to see in the movie. I don't know if any or many of those have been filmed and the scenes were finalized with the CGI or could be finalized for the disc release completing rendering but what is for sure is that a longer cut would just boost the number of DVD/Blu-Ray discs sold a lot more than expected and a lot more than just the theatrical+IMAX could.
For example the Showest Footage Sneak Peak appeared for download for a bunch of hours here on the Michael Bay official website/forum already included more key dialogue sentences between Sam and Bumblebee in the garage. Bumblebee was asking Sam "what is..your purpose?" ... and than he answered telling he wanted to be normal and so on... that scene was shortened in the theatrical release and that key sentence lost. I still don't get why, it was not revealing the plot but giving viewers some serious characters development between Sam and Bumblebee with Mikaela in the background of the scene... it was perfect in the Showest Footage Sneak Peak release.. I don't understand the reason why it got shortened later on...
So I wonder if like for example the little scene of Mikaela fixing Bumblebee auto-repairing functions on his arm was ever filmed as well and the same applies to many other very good scenes and details found in the novel.
I really hope that an extended cut of the movie will be available at least on the Blu-Ray release and not just IMAX but all the good finalized deleted scenes integrated back in the movie. Transformers2 needs to have its deleted scenes integrated in the movie more than the first Transformers movie, because even if the first had a lot of details still missing it was pretty filled and refined while Transformers2 is missing some key bits and pieces here and there affecting the overall pacing and not feeling strong enough at many points as it was planned to. Re-integrating the deleted scenes in the movie would help it look and feel as much refined as the first movie was.

Cool Re: Transformers 2 Blu-ray aspect ratios

There was no extra footage from the IMAX version. I saw it at the IMAX and then in theaters to compare. Sorry Dude!! Now When the Blu-ray version comes out if Michael Bay ones to add extra scenes only for Blu-ray go ahead. Final Fanasty Advant Children did that. I would love to see extra robot action.

Some of the main fight scenes are longer in the IMAX version by 120-150seconds approx.

Do you remember this post by Michael Bay here on his own forum announcing a longer cut for IMAX ?

For DVD and Blu-Ray they should have both versions of Theatrical and Extended version on the same movie. If there is extra movie scenes. Either way when it comes out on DVD I will still buy both Theatrical and Extended versions of the movie if they don't come to gather, I happen to like regular theatrical versions for some reason. If there is an extended version to, you don't know?

    Mr.Bay,
I hope that the Blu-Ray will include a feature about the sound effects, and Foley. It is unbelievably impressive. When Optimus first hits Megatron in the forest, and not to forget, the sounds of the robots transforming. It was music to my ears.

Well, the first Transformers came out July 1'st, and came out on DVD October 16th.

Second Transformers came out June 24th, and to follow the same time line would come out about October 7th. So a Sept 30th date (one week in advance) might seem reasonable.

It is kind of crazy how fast these Transformer movies are coming out on DVD, most popular movies take twice as long.

Default Still love the Verizon Fios commercial

This still makes me laugh. We all know Bay has a reputation for wanting to blow more things up than any other director and I think it actually shows how down-to-earth Bay is that he can poke fun of himself.
