ROTF, Star Trek & The Dark Knight; Which is better?

I liked TDK but I think the reason so many critics gave it positives reviews was because of the death of Heath Ledger, I think it was taboo for them to give it a bad review because of that. I still don't know how Star Trek got 95% on Rotten Tomatoes, I think it had way more plot holes than ROTF, First of all Nero waiting around twenty something years for Old spock. the special effects were not that great, ROTF was at least three times better than Star Trek and The Dark knights, here are my grades;

Special Effects;

Star Trek's Effect were just so-so, the Dark knight did not use much CGI, but the times it did, it looked very fake, I did not think Two-face's CGI was that realitic. ROTF Speaks for itself, the Forest scene was just plain EPIC

Score;

this was my favorite part of ROTF, they used a few pieces from the first movie, but the new parts added like, "Prime", "Tomb of the Primes", "Matrix of leadership" and "I claim your Sun" were amazing, I loved the score but I felt it could have had one or two more new tracks. Star trek did nothing original, none of the music wowed me, The Dark Knight used the exact same music from Batman Begins, which I loved, but i don't remember hearing anything new.

Story:

for a transformers fan, ROTF was easy to follow, i can see how a non-fan might get confused, but the story itself was fun, perfect for a popcorn action summer movie, the Story in Star Trek was kinda weak, this reboot was supposed to be about the academy days, now how much of those days did they really show? they show Kirk taking the Kobayashi Maru Test, then that's it??? Plus the whole Nero waiting 20 years for Old spock was kinda ridiculous, I would think that after 20 years the guy would not be mad anymore and would wanna get laid. The Story for the Dark Knight was good too, but again, HUGE PLOT HOLES, I thought the scene where Gordon got shot was RIDICULOUS, you're telling me that you don't see the Joker with all that makeup on in the first row dressed as a cop? Yet after the shots they stop the Mad Hatter and don't grab the guy with the screwed up face, the whole talk the Joker had with Harvey Dent about how he does not have a plan, that was kinda hypocritical, because the whole movie was about the Joker's plan, I actually think TDK had more plot holes that ROTF.

When I see a movie, what I am looking for is whether or not that movie has magic, that is, the ability to give me goosebumps. And with that in mind I am going to have to say...

...Star Trek. Here's why. It gave me goosebumps...twice. Revenge did not do it once. In fact, there were some scenes in Revenge where I sat there with a bored look on my face.

I don't recall The Dark Knight giving me goosebumps but there were many scenes where I couldn't get my eyes off the screen, I enjoyed it way more than Revenge.

Now some of you might be thinking, "Trailbreaker! What's wrong with you?! You should be loving Transformers more than all of these other movies!!!" Before anybody decided to pounce on me and criticize me for liking these movies better than Revenge, I will have you know that the first Transformers had me captivated more than any other film out there, in fact, I enjoyed Transformers in theaters more than any other movie. I left that theater with a massive smile on my face that I couldn't get off for an hour. Revenge just didn't do that for me.

I have had to clarify this so many times to the haters "there are no such thing as true fans!", I never thought I would have to clarify it to a supporter. I have tried and tried to support this film the best I can, condemning haters for making the false racial stereotype accusations, and now I get bitched at by supporters because I think Star Trek is better than Revenge?

You also completely ignore the fact that I LOVE TF1! Now I am suddenly not "a true transformer fan" because I don't love ROTF?!

I liked each one in thier own individual way!.... but I liked TDK and Star Trek more than ROTF!

I also got the goosebumps with Star Trek! and I liked the story way better than ROTF (knowing that they're totally different, off course!).... and that's why I can't forgive Orci and Kurtzman.... because they wrote both!!! and that's unbelievable how they just had that brilliant Star Trek script, and still deliver the poor ROTF one!... they got lazy!

The Dark Knight is one of the most overrated movies I've ever had the displeasure of seeing, Heath Ledger did a fine job as the Joker in it, but that's it. The movie is 2 hours and 30+ minutes long and with a whole lot of talking, its the type of movie that will put you to sleep. It's mediocre at best, not great.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is my type of movie, not something that will put me to sleep like the Dark Knight did.

I'm not comparing The Dark Knight vs ROTF. I've seen both and liked both for different reasons.

One thing I will say........

I've seen TDK once in theathers and once as a rental. Will I watch it again? Maybe...but it's not one I'll watch over and over again.
ROTF....I've already seen twice and will see it at least once more on the big screen, and than loads of times on DVD. Guess that's still comparing them. Let me reword.


There are movies I respect (TDK), and than there are movies I love for the pure entertainment.(ROTF) Each movie has it's place.

The Dark Knight is only good imo because of Heath as the Joker and Aaron as Two Face,the rest is very average to really boring. I don't really like Nolan's Batman either. As for Star Trek I like it because of the visuals and special effects,and high tech gadgets and action,but everything else about the movie entertainment wise is meh to really boring too. As for Tf:ROTF,I enjoyed it and like it more than the above. I barely found myself bored while watching it. I'm a really huge Batman fan and Nolan's Batman movies don't do much for me and I really never liked Star Trek to begin with. Both Star Trek and The Dark Knight bring nothing fresh to the table even though they are enjoyable on some level. And I think that if Heath didn't play Joker that the movie would have been more boring and that it wouldn't have made the amount of money it did or get the amount of good reviews it did from movie critics around the world. I'm looking forward to Batman movies down the road that aren't Nolan related. And if I wasn't a really a huge Batman fan I wouldn't have got two different Batman tattoos on my arms.

Enjoying movies is very personal experience. The response varies depending on audience's personal background. Interestingly, sometimes you'll love what you used to hate. Also the opposite can happen. Unless you're the one who made the movie, there's no need to worry about what other audiences think.

And guys, please stop the true fan argument.
For example, quite a few young guys and gals give me messages through my website, like "I'm your true fan because I love your works" and "I'm your true fan because I have the balls to make a constructive criticism" and "I've been your true fan over a decade" and "I'm new, but I'm your true fan" I think they are all true fans, fans don't have to compete against one another.

Relax, and enjoy whatever which makes you happy. And one who enjoyed ROTF, Trek, T4, and TDK all is the luckiest man/woman.

But for share overall enjoyment, I liked ROTF the most because that is the type of movie that I enjoy watching. This year, Star Trek is the best movie to come out. BUT it doesn't mean I'm going to watch Star Trek again and again. I'm going to watch Transformers again and again and again even though I gave it a lower score because I feel that there were some flaws in the movie that prevent it from getting a higher score
