Default Top Gun 2 is right up Bay's alley

If there is one guy who should direct Top Gun 2, it should be Michael Bay

I really don't think they should make a Top Gun sequel because I think it is one of those movies with a story that is only good once. Its just like Karate Kid, they didn't need a sequel. The novelty is good on it's first time.

But if they were to make Top Gun sequel, I think Michael Bay would be perfect.

    Why? Because.....

    - he's got the best relationship with the military and the Pentagon
    - he has shot real F-22 Raptors before
    - he's an action maestro
    - he can make a Maverick type hot shot character look really good
    - the air force is gonna, once again, look good at what they do in this movie
    - this will be a test of Michael Bay's action directing abilities because he's done car stunts but how about aerial dog fights?

Anyways, if a Top Gun sequel were to ever be made, they should ask Michael Bay especially since it's also a Paramount studios production

    oh ffs
I've always defended Michael Bay against attacks that his films are full of stupid explosions, girls in underwear and mindless characters... but then he made Transformers 2 and I conceded...

Forget the idea of Michael Bay directing it, how is just a sequel in general possible?

You have a point Darthrage but with the F-14's retired and these days Air Force superiority of the U.S. the dog fighting days are no more.
Nothing beats the classic Top Gun done by Jerry Bruckheimer and Tom Cruise. The flying scenes in Behind Enemy Lines even the movie Stealth still can't beat Top Gun. I rather see Bay tackle Robotech than Warner Bros.teaming up with Maguire production.

Many ppl including myself still think this was among the coolest movie intros. (hats off to Bruckheimer & Co.)

well they could use the F-22 Raptors and even though they truly are the terrors of the skies, you can make it like Top Gun was.

Just do training missions and personal conflicts throughtout most of the movie and then have the very end of the movie would be a fictional aerial dogfight

I'm sure we'd all see that

I actually don't want him to direct Top Gun 2 if it is even being made but if it were to be directed by him, I'd still be excited.

I know there was talks of Top Gun 2 before but it had absolutely no involvement with Michael Bay
