    Smile The Happy Thread

Boy guys, I tell ya. The beginning of this summer has been pretty insane...in all categories. Revenge of the Fallen comes out, there's ranting and raving, hymning and hawing, all of these controversies being brought up on the forums, people barking at each other back and forth. Now look at all the celebs dropping like flies! Farrah Fawcett, MJ, Billy Mays, and now Fred Travalena! What's going on?

So in response to all of this insanity and negativity and bad news and blah blah blah, I decided to cook up this thread for everybody to come on and talk about happy stuff, everything that is positive, awesome, and delightful as well as good news.

    Who's with me?

(just a little note, this is no place to post randomz, keep that in the randomz thread)

I had a really bad week last week. This week has been better, though. Been much happier I'd like to stay happy, but I know it's not always possible. Just gotta do the best I can do.

I have good news! I have an interview next week at Barnes and Noble. It's not much, but it's better than my current job. I was so happy to get that call.

I went to see Star Trek today. Yeah, after over 2 months they are still playing it at some theaters. Oh, and I got my report card today, a 94 average for the fourth quarter! The three other quarters this past year were 93's.

I forgot to say what my good news was....

I love books and writing, and decided a couple years back that I wanted to get a book published. (easier said than done)
But oh joy, happiness....an agent just requested a partial yesterday.....::crosses fingers and hopes they ask to see the rest::

It's a long shot, but still good news.

I'm happy because I can finally play Silent Hill on my PS3 without hearing a loud buzzing noise every time I fire my gun...yay! That really used to annoy the tar out of me, even though I can play the game elsewhere. Glad Sony finally did something to fix it

I'm also happy because it's been nice out and not too hot. I don't have A/C, so I really like this sort of weather

I'm a writer too! I'm kind of a genre mixer. I hate sticking to one thing because I get bored. I hope to sell a book someday, but for now I have to keep going with practice. I love doing it.

Hi Tab, whatever you do, just keep writing.

I'm still learning all the stuff, and I'm pretty stubborn.....but this is my first attempt at a novel. I'll just have to wait and see. If I get rejected, no big deal....that's part of the learning curve too.

Yep, that's what I learned in college. You learn a lot about the business when you are a creative writing major. All of my teachers were published authors, but not big name ones.
