    Default DVD-Features Wishlist

Loved the bonusmaterial from TF1. The Making Of featurettes and the Shia improvisations were the best.

My Wishlist for the upcoming DVD/Blu Ray Release:

Audio-commentary Video-commentary with Michael Bay and Cast & Crew members
several hour long Making of about Pre- Production and Postproduction
Featurettes about the on set Special effects
    The world record explosion
The work with ILM and Digital Domain
Of course the Trailers and Teasers
The musicclips from Linkin Park and Green Day (Must Have!)
    Concept artworks

    Cinechat
    BD-Live with downloading material
PIP (Map with the locations of all Transformers during the movie)
    etc.

Which features do you like to see in the DVD?

    - A longer Director's Cut/Extended Cut with all finalized deleted scenes re-integrated directly in the movie. Even if the final runtime goes up to 165-170minutes. Not just the addition of the IMAX filmed scenes. (all the CGI that can be finalized for scenes that were shortened or never added to the theatrical cut, I'd like to see that happen. A longer runtime would only improve the movie and sell more copies)
    - Selectable Theatrical Cut/Extended Cut using branching feature on Blu-Ray
    - DTS Master Audio 7.1 track on Blu-Ray
    - Highest possible H.264 AVC average bitrate for maximum video quality

A very technical Bay's comentary, some actor/producer/technician comentary woulf be nice too.

A "making off" of some of the set pieces. From the script to then final cut.

I think one of the main things I'm looking for on dvd or blu-ray is a scene after the credits leading into the next movie. It's not likely but I can hope.

    (Spoilers)

I think there was a post already made for this... but anyways

Commentary with Michael Bay & some of the major cast (Shia, Megan, Tyrese, Josh, and John). It adds something when you can have more perspectives about the scene.

Voice casting interviews and their opinions. I really want to know what Peter Cullen was thinking when he read the script, "Oh they are killing Optimus again".

Deleted Scenes / Implementation: A way to view particular deleted scenes that were not shown in theaters, however adding them to this dvd (not just blu-ray)

The Bots: an in depth look at each robot, maybe some story and why they used them.

If they do the Blu-Ray like Dark Knight, and the IMAX scenes go from 2.40:1 to 1.78:1, I hope this can be optional via seemless branching. That would accomodate both HDTV screens, and those with Home Theaters that have CIH setups with a 2.40:1 screen.

    Director's Commentary

As much behind the scenes concept to fully rendered robot stuff they can show. Concept art, early versions, CG modeling, texture maps, creating the transformations, etc.

Interviews with the voice actors and various takes that did and didn't make it.

Lots of great comments so far. Here's my 2 cents.

Transformers 2: DVD / Blu Ray Wish List

    I. Behind the Scenes Production

    Concept Art
    - earliest sketches to final production style guide paintings
    - animatic work
    - R & D in the technical decisions of how to animate transformations from robot to alternate form
    - test renders, etc.

    Animation Rigs in Maya:
    - show riggers actually setting up anim rigs, get into thought processes behind controllers, etc.
    - show animators actually working with rigs
    - full body animation being done
    - talk about facial animation process... again with both rigging, and animators keyframing motion in.
    - control interfaces created for animators! The interfaces and tools that coders at places like ILM make for animators to use is often so cool!
-- please do stuff like this for more than just 1 transformer... show lots!

    Rendering: Layers and Comps
    - show how different render passes are spit out
    - then show different shots from the movie being comped together in whatever post app that ILM / other effects house used
A great example is the bonus content of the Final Fantasy: Spirits Within DVD showing shots being comped together.
Transformation Shots w/ Levels of Progression
    - we ALL want to see anims of characters transforming back and forth in wireframe, flat shaded, ambient occluded, diffuse textured, and final rendered form!!!!
You've got all the plates rendered out already!... so just stick them on a 50% grey background and re-bake out some movie for us to watch over and over and over again!
Damn. I think everybody would pay money for a DVD of just that!

    Simulations
    - Find specific shots that are just nutz, then talk about the setups used to create physical simulations of debris, rubble, incorporating that into footage so it looks like it's interacting on with live shot elements.

Thanks for all the great entertainment MB. Keep on kicking ass.

How about an audio commetry from the voice actors?

And maybe the "Vehicles of Transformers", presented by Peter Cullen, where Peter presents and drives the vehicles of the film.

Also maybe something like "Working with the US Military", presented and featuring Tyrese & Josh, which coud also show the Jets & Helicopters from the film, and how the Military assisted with the film.

Basically what everyone has pretty much said so far.

I would just love hours and hours of material talking about every aspect of production like music, editing, CGI, the works. A commentary from Bay is a given (the man does awesome commentaries).

If there is an extended cut with more robot footage, I'm all for it.

I'd also like to see all the marketing campaign materials. Posters, Trailers, TV Spots, and even the "New Divide" music video.

Considering Charlie de Lauzirika is working on the DVD/Blu Ray, I assume we're in for a huge treat.

I thought I remembered reading here that there were no deleted scenes for TF (or was that just in the normal DVD?) so is it possible that there are no extra unseen scenes from TF2?

I'd like them if they exist if they're substantial... I hate when you go to watch one and it's 3 seconds long, 2 of which were in the movie, and adds nothing.
