What was the point of Alice/The Pretender??

I went there to see Transformers without lingering thoughts of other movies they may have ripped off or had slight similarities in any way.

If I did that every time a new movie came out I would be pissed every weekend.

i liked the Alice pretender thing. The story behind Alice... if any of you took a look at the book forthe movie, was this D-con did not scan a human and take her form but she did scan another robot. The Pretender took on the look of an animatronic Alice from Alice in wounderland. This was not in the movie and this part may have been cut. While Alice is tring to kill Sam in his room, Leo is in the tv sitting room downstairs and sees on tv the Alice in wounderland thing on tv and is lie "I knew I seen her somewhere before."

BB knew that she there was something wrong with her. But he also know that with communication deficiencies, there would be no way to explain it to him without him freaking out.

So the best way would be just to get her out of the car in whatever creative way possible

I still think it's to add to the danger of them. It's a bit unnerving to think they could be around us. It's even worse when they could actually become one of us. Think about it. She was way more dangerous than any of the other Decepticons because she actually got close. She wasn't supposed to kill him, so that's why she didn't.

When I heard about Alice I was looking forward to seeing what they could dish out but after seeing the movie I can't seem to find what her role was. She doesn't even associate with other Decepticons! She was just...there.

I think BB did know something was up with her, but did not realize it. Some transformers I think along with disguising themselves can block out any energies that may give them away. Look at Frenzy, he was surrounded by 5 Autobots and two humans and know one had a clue.
I din't mind her being there, I just think she should not have gotton as much screen time.

she was meant for spying..and she was weaker..her original protoform was not big enough to turn into a vehicle, as we see..so she took a human to spy on him and hopefully catch him..which utterly failed

Barricade captures interagates and replaces his captured with pretenders. But oh... Barricade was cut!!!!!!! Bee was ment to fight both Barricade and Alice in this part but because things needed to be edited for time, this was all cut out.

I really missed Barricade in this film. It would have been cool to see him fight Bumblebee again.
I thought Barricade wasn't in Revenge of the Fallen because he was killed by NEST between the films because they said they'd killed Decepticons on 6 continents.

Would have been classic if Barricade yells something like, "it's payback time Bumblebrat!" and Bumblebee responds by playing back some trash talking audio sound clip or he's playing a song like Mama Said Knock You Out while he proceeds to whoop on him.

Haha! Yeah it would cool if that happened but sadly I don't think he'll be in the third film. I think the theory is that he's been killed.

My gripe about Alice is CGI. (DD did a good job on the CG and animation of her per se, that's not tha point.)

When she transformed, we saw she was all made out of thousands of metal parts, even her skin, hair and the the tiny slippy dress. Even if she could deceive human eyes, other sensory awareness of human would feel some strangeness of her.

It's a bit strange that Sam didn't notice that untill he got a deep kiss from her, even she sat on his lap at the dorm party before. To approach the target (Sam) such close, she should have had soft and thick outer shells and real clothes. If their nano-mechaninc cells can look and feels as warm and soft as human skins so easily, then they no longer need to disguise as any vehicles or appliances. What they should do is sending a bunch of Pretender troops (and making some of them slip into the political world) to the Earth. But we know it's a completely different movie.

In short, it must've been nice if there was just one more second process of transormation, with ripped out clothes and melted down pseudo-skins, not only with a little digital smudges on her face.

Rather than that, guys must beware of any perfect chat-girlfriends. If she looks too hot, too compassionate and too kind to you, she might be a pixelated Decepticon. (I had assumed that Soundwave would hack into a web-chat date between Sam and Mikaela and trap them both.)

And if there's any very small and thin Cybertronian with capability of disguising as cute clothes like what Alice had, please send me one, I'll wear him/her so that I won't have to do shopping at Victoria's Secret or Abercrombie. Besides, he/she would be a nice powered exoskeleton while it's looking pretty.

she wasnt that bad although when she was chasing the 3 of them i swear i thought the terminator music was going to play lol. they did a good job though, people who didnt know she was a robot to begin with were surprised when they found out what she was. i wish i was one of them lol knowing she was a robot kinda ruined it for me but it was still interesting.

I think it was to show that Sam is never safe no matter where he is. She was put in to give more danger to the Decepticons.

I agree - it's a new strategy; using seduction to render her target vulnerable instead of brute force. Had Sam not been sober (I'm assuming he hadn't been drinking before he got dragged along to that party) he would've been easy prey for her.

Seriously??? They chose to edit THIS out and leave the lame comedy in??? Does Not Compute!! I can think of so much other stuff that could've been cut to make room for this.
