It's a given that the original series would not translate well to live action. There will NEVER be an all robot, G-1-ish looking movie, because it would fail...terribly. The G1 cartoon hasn't aged well. I should know, seeing as I was a huge fan when it was originally on.

I'm not saying that it should be tooth and nail similar to its G1 counter parts, nor am I saying that they be a carbon copy of the series. I do think it should respect a little bit of its roots (it would make one portion of its illustrious and large fanbase, pleased). Lets be honest, the current story with the human element is far from brilliance - it just lives off its action sequences. There just isn't enough interaction between the Transformers, which should not be the case. I think a Primus vs. Unicron twist (hey, the Matrix is in the movies, eh?) would fall right up MB's alley (y'know, BIG explosions).

the decepticons and autobots were all reinterpreted for the movie. they look a lot different from g1. so if they bring in unicron and primus if they use them at all, it's only natural for the producers to make them look different to fit the movie's storyline. jetfire was changed from a cybertronian jet into an sr-71, they did a great job. i won't be against michael bay changing unicron if he decides to use him in the movie.

Maybe so, but its characters remain the same or similar to themselves. The Decepticons take over Cybetron for their own purpose, the Autobots want to restore balance - that remains similar, just that they fight over the All-spark and the war caused death of many civilians on Cybertron.

Of them all, Optimus is the closest thing to the original (hence the classic Peter Cullen Optimus Prime voice), its design is the one thing that shows its origins more so, than compared to other Optimus Prime variants I've seen (Armada, Engergon, Cybertron and Animated).

Like I've said, the story line isn't anything special and its main feature - only things going for it is its action, Peter Cullen one liners and its score. I think any changes to its story line would be warm welcomed. As for Primus and Unicron, like I've said... they can fit them if the fight goes to space and off Earth. Sorry but I just don't see Primus and Cybertron being two very different entities.

A big nightmare for the CGI artists, with all of the liquid elements. But the result would be spectacular if done right!

Why not? Supposing for a moment they DO decide to use Unicron for part 3. The character would call for an actor just as iconic as Orson Welles, but also completely different in every imaginable sense - and you don't get more different from Welles than the Terminator himself.

As the biggest, baddest villain in the TF universe, Unicron needs gravitas. Arnie would give that quality to the role.

Always wondered what that little girl would have been like after that night. Would she have forgotten, or would her parents had have to stick her into a mental ward?

Okay, I perfectly understand the point you're trying to make, and to tell you the truth, I'd think it'd be great. But I'm looking at it from a technical standpoint. How are you envisioning it, exactly? Would Arnie's voice be modified to sound more menacing? Or would it just be his normal voice? Because I'm having a hard time picturing Unicron speaking with an Austrian accent, that's if he actually will speak with it if it were to ever happen. It would also depend on the look, size, presentation, all of that mumbo jumbo, etc of the movie-verse Unicron, should he be in movie 3. I'm just having a hard time piecing it together.

Especially with shiny robot metal parts. I mean, seeing rain running down, dripping off of every panel, window, part, etc. would be really incredible, added to reflective lighting effects.

Now I wonder if Prime would turn on his window wipers on his chest windshield in robot mode...

As of ideas taken from G1 (aside that most ideas will be considered treky or star wars... face it, they come from space):

-Megatron plans to ram Cybertron into earth (yeah, hi is rly pissed) with the aid of a mighty robot Unicron (not necessarily a planet robot, just a big one); however prime stops the threat with the matrix and the robot planet hovers the earth as a new metallic moon.
-Starscream and Megatron steal robot convicts data banks and create the Stunticons (combiner, duh!) while them abots make some of their own (Aerialbots, Dinobots... pick a choice).
-Introduce the space bridge thing. Regroup all abots on earth for an all out attack to rid the universe from dcons... and so they end up in a small planet where they encounter Trypticon; abots rebuild Omega Supreme from the first war.
-Some human-like robots (Sam touches a protoform) create the first powermaster Megatron and some dcons, then Prime and some abots (Sam and Bumble Bee/Prime, Mikaela and an Arcee model combine... makes sense ).
- Primus and Unicron... more ancient robots... i just don't see it happening. But Unicron as an outcast transformer, imprisoned or something and wants a piece of prime for being a descendant.
-How about Nemesis and Teletran 1; ships long forgotten and they turn out to be transformers as well!!! Two huge robots duke it out.
-Them Quintessons return to take back their creations, the transformers (slaves); abots and dcons join forces to fight them as they have the ability to create transformers from anything electrical (like the all spark). Story would go on explaining how they left the allspark in Cybertron as they ventured to other planets to drain power resources and/or energy...

Well, I was sort of imagining Arnold's voice being only slightly modified - pitched down a little, add some bass to make him sound more demonic - but still recognizable.

In my opinion, I think the Austrian accent would be perfect for a character as OTT as Unicron in a "corny-but-cool" way.

You know what I'd like to see in TF3? A wheele chair Transformer. Why a wheele chair? Well, my best friend has cerebral palsy and as a result his legs are not very strong so sometimes he's on crutches and other times he uses his wheele chair. Anyway we were discussing Transformers and we thought that the most unlikely Transformer to be made into a figure or appear in any TV show/ Movie would be one that transformes into a wheele chair( Our first choice was toaster but I think there was one in ROTF).

Also, we've seen just about everything else turn into a Transformer so why not?
