Skids and Mudflap...how does everyone feel about the racism accusations?

I have a theory: Maybe Michael was trying to mock the “goofy white guy trying to be hip black guy” fad, exemplified by bozos like Vanilla Ice. In this case, alien robots attempt to mimic a certain type of culture - with ugly results. That's what the Twins are supposed to be, basically: goofy white guys trying to act black. I find looking at Skids and Mudflap in that light make their scenes feel much less painful.

If TF3 is ever made, it would probably be a good idea to add a sequence between Epps and the Twins, just to make the cultural-imitation joke hit home. Epps could react like most of the critics have been reacting to the Twins: "What the F*** is wrong with you two?!" After which Skids and Mudflap would lower their heads and sulk in a corner of the room.

How about this? Let's say they WERE to represent illiterate minorities. Did we also forget that they also represented UNBELIEVABLE bravery in taking on MOFO-KING DEVASTATOR? They friggin' took on quite possibly the most powerful decepticon in history, and they were the smallest and weakest Autobots in the movie. So if anything, this put them in a remarkably positive light. Very goofy, playful, and terribly brave Autobots. I'd be quite proud to be represented by them.
