Nice, I like that. That would have been an awesome scene.

We had Gamer, G I Joe, Airbender, Harry Potter and New moon, in that order.

Ok, firstly I loved the movie and would encourage Michael Bay to ignore the negative hype and please make the 3rd one. Now somethings did frustrate me, the duplication of the constructacons, you see them form devastator but then also fighting on the ground, thats just lazy graphics. Secondly there was all this hype about something in the credits, yet I watched it in my cinema through to the screen turning off and there was nothing!! Thirdly both devastator and the fallen died too easly

Other then that it was awesome dude!!

So I came to these forums, I joined this great adventure will all of my friends on here, the witnessing of a movie being produced from start to finish. The excitement, the anxiousness, the great happy thoughts of seeing my favorite robot characters on screen in this upcoming sequel to a movie I cherish very much.

I was disappointed. This movie was not what I expected it to be. Honestly, got all excited and energized over nothing. Lemme elaborate (some things may not be in chronological order):

    The Good:

The Twins: the were funny as hell.
Jetfire: also very cool. I love his personality.
    The insane action
Megatron and Starscream: honestly, it was cool to hear the two talk more. Megatron speaking in a calm mood sounds pretty interesting.
The ball bearing mini robots: It was cool seeing those things come together. That was awesome.
Devastator: Haha yeah! Except for...(see "The ugly")...
    Sam's Mom: :lol

    The Bad (look out):

    Plot:

-Opening epilogue with the Fallen on Earth: Too fast.
-Shanghai scene: Too fast, it's as if all the scenes shown on the trailers was the only thing they filmed!
    -Kitchen bot scene: Too fast.
-Megatron's resurrection: Huh, what? What just happened? How did he get his new body so fast? How did he get to the Nemesis so fast?
    -Alice the pretender: Ugh.
-Forest fight scene: again, too fast.
-Preparing the Jetfire suit: So that's why Jolt is there...
    -Ending: Eh.

    Characters:

Soundwave: "I'll get you Inspector Gadget! NEXT TIME!!!"
-Constructicons: So, uhhh, I thought long Haul, Mix and those guys were with Devastator? Uhhh, yeah.
-Optimus: Seriously, we barely see him do anything!
-Sideswipe: Honestly, this was one I was really looking forward to, and he had the potential to be badass, sadly I didn't get to see that.
-Arcee: Again, I was looking forward to her too, but yeah...
-Jolt: So why was he in this movie?
Optimus in his Jetfire suit: Uhh yeah, what just happened? Oh he killed the Fallen right? That's it?
-The Fallen: crappy lines, ugh. He was a wimp, a piece of junk, Optimus scrapped him before I could even see him get a chance for his character to develop.

    Everything else:

    -Title: Too fast.
-Dreamworks/Paramount logos: Not as badass as the first one.
-The CGI: Yeah, looks like they ain't getting that academy award this year. Looked too video game-ish to me. Sometimes it's so hard to tell what the bots are doing when they are fighting because the CGI was too distracting.
-Score: Honestly it sounded badass hearing the 30 second sound clips by themselves but in the end it didn't even matter in the movie.

    The Ugly:
    Devastator's balls. Nuff said.:wtf
    Conclusion:

Honestly I really wish this movie was awesome, but again, I guess I shouldn't count my chickens before they hatch. The audience reaction to this was...*crickets chirping*...unlike the first one where people were hooting and hollering over the cool parts and cheering at the end. There was hardly an audience for Revenge in my theater.

What I wanna know is that...what happened? Why is it bad? Who is to blame for all of this? Michael Bay? Bob Orci and Alex Kurtzman? That other writer guy they hired? The desperate fans to get their bots in the movie? Seriously, I am lost on this one. No hard feelings Mike.

But you know what? I will give them a chance. What do I mean by that? Transformers 3. If Bay and company can pump out a good third one then I will be satisfied.

So guys, that is my honest opinion. I know you're my friends and I like you all, but please don't bother trying to change my opinion or hate me because I didn't like this movie.

A sad and unfortunate 2 out of 5.

I agree with your Shanghai point. It's as though he filmed it so any random 30 seconds could be used for a commercial. I realize that it's a fast-paced action movie, but there was barely any breathing room in the scenes. You didn't get any time to take in any of the cool things happening on screen. I thought they had this problem in the last James Bond movie as well.

Sorry but what did you expect to see? A 240minutes movie? If Bay did all scenes longer not only the movie runtime would have doubled but then even the needed budget for all the CGI would have been way higher if not doubled.
I don't see what was wrong with Alice the pretender anyway. It's part of the franchise to have Pretenders. You are a "veteran" of Michael Bay forum so you should know his filming style better then others. I don't get why you think that now fight scenes were to quick... it's the same in the first Transfomers and other Bay movies have the same style.
Maybe you weren't in the right mood to enjoy the movie today? Otherwise I can't understand the reason, the director didn't change, his style didn't change and I'd say he improved it because his visuals now are a bit slower than before to let more people be able to follow the fast pacing better and it works.

What you said here could be said about the first movie as well. There were many background characters after all. The Fallen doesn't really die.. he can return.. he is not a normal being and he really is like an appendix of Unicron... I wouldn't be surprised if he would return in the next movie like the character does in some comics and anime versions..
The Fallen was just introduced to introduce the mythology of Unicron, he didn't need to be understood, he was just a menacing being that needed to be stopped. But he can't be stopped so easily.. I hope they will re-use him in the next movie although Unicron and his unstoppable power should be the main villain.

I am sorry BUT ... what?? The CGI is what? Video game style?? Are you kidding me? No, really.. are you kidding?
The score is better than the first movie by far.
And you are whining about the title and logos too there?

No, really what did happen to you today? Because if you liked the first movie and you like Michael Bay movies you can't write such a ranting post. What you say is just not true. I don't know which movie did you watch but it doesn't seem that it was Transformers2:ROTF. Really.

The CGI looking video game style thing.... was the projector defective or what? What you said there it's crazy. It's absolutely false, sorry but I don't get it.

?? I think something happened to you that affected your judgment. Because you wrote some real nonsense there like the worst bashers appearing on forums.. Well, I'd say even worse.. what is with the CGI too video game style... ? That is a huge thing to say because anyone can see that is absolutely not the case. You could write whatever kind of bashing and ranting and whining but you can't seriously tell us that the CGI looks bad or less detailed than on the first movie... and I mean it seriously. What happened to you ?

Was anyone else really annoyed that THREE different characters were resurrected in this film? Where's the excitement/tension/sense of danger if no one is going to actually stay dead?

Actually on the 'net many critics to bash the movie further even wrote that there are too many deaths, they counted 7000+ human casualties more than on 9/11, and so the movie should have been R-rated and it's not suited to kids... go figure!
And you wanted those three to stay dead too? Then what would have the critics had to say at that point ?

It's really funny what critics say contradicting themselves actually because they wrote that the movie is too childish and for little kids but at the same time telling that there is too much carnage not suited for kids.... They don't know what they are talking about, really.

First off Wingzero, you sound like you have a serious problem with my opinion and you need to cut it out with the attitude.

So what if I am a veteran of the Michael Bay forum? Lemme tell you something, I have only seen 2 of his movies, Transformers and Pearl Harbor. But I am a fan of him, his film style is excellent and I love the first movie. His movies are meant to be insane roller coaster rides, but this roller coaster ride I went on, I kept falling off and trying to get back on, but when I get back on it ends up flinging me off again. The scenes in this movie are too quick for me to decipher what is going on.

Alice was a crappy character, and pointless for that matter. Seriously, what purpose did she serve in that college?

What you said here could be said about the first movie as well. There were many background characters after all. The Fallen sucked as a character. Honestly I hated the way the executed him. I thought he was in a pocket dimension? In a sarcophagus perhaps? But no, he was just sitting there in his spaceship waiting for Megatron to come serve him, as if he has been there all of this time and they have been doing this on a daily basis. Oh btw, they never even established in the movie of how their relationship started. (unless I missed that part?) Where is this whole revenge thing coming from? The Fallen's lines are terrible, so cliche it feels like I am watching a Saturday morning cartoon when I listen to him speak.

Oh and I am looking forward to seeing Unicron in TF3 fyi.

I am sorry BUT ... what?? The CGI is what? Video game style?? Are you kidding me? No, really.. are you kidding?

Perhaps I went too far with the whole "video game graphics" thing, but I watched TF1 this morning as a comparison, the CGI was much better in TF1. Yes, the lighting technology worked in TF2, the complexity was amazing, but it was the animation itself. It didn't fit in with the rest of the movie.

?? I think something happened to you that affected your judgment. Because you wrote some real nonsense there like the worst bashers appearing on forums.. Okay, what makes you think I am bashing and whining? Seriously? Are all negative reviews in your point of view considered bashing and whining? I was merely reviewing! That's all!

Honestly I can go on with the issue about this movie but seeing that I am apparently becoming the enemy because of my point of view, I won't.

That's not the fault of the critics - that's the fault of the film-makers.

I was watching TF2 and there was no 'breath-taking' scenes. I finally found my word, magic. There was no 'magic' to the atmosphire of the movie/plot. Really, I felt almost nothing when OP died. I mean, we all knew he was coming back, why waste tears? But anyways, to me the scenes didn't feel like there was any heart or meaning to them. It feels... flat. And the score could of helped some of that but it was continuously overlapped with blasts and other noises, taking the effect away. The more I think about this, the sadder it makes me. Ecspecially the fact they don't show almost ANY mourning from the other Autobots. It's the 'Jazz effect' all over again. Didn't the say more bots/cons, less humans? Well, we got more cons, now what about the bots?
Freedom of speech is great and all, but say it polite or don't say it at all.
    I like ROTF and TF1.

Movin, I agree with you on this. There was no "magic" like you said. TF1..HAD magic, with scenes like the Autobot arrival, heck, Blackout for that matter (if you consider it "dark magic"). There was not a single time in TF2 where you could go "ooooohhh, ahhhhhh!" I wanted a moment where I could get goosebumps. TF1 had that. TF2...did not. It was just BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM...over. Huh, what? That's it?

I'm glad it wasn't just me. I wish I could go back and find some magic but I don't really want to go back. This makes me sad, cuz I want to like this movie. It was what we all waited for for two years and I feel let down. Barely any Sideswipe, Arcee, or pretty much nothing of Jolt, and we waited to learn more about them. Devastator destroyed be two small poser bots(and I like the poser bots), after all that build up to his strength. I feel so let down. Where the magic go?

Don't you mean BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM...over?

The movie was about 4 days long.

Actually, from my point of view, this movie feels like one big 2.5 hour long Saturday morning cartoon episode....sorta like...G1? Fanboys out there complain about the movieverse not being like their precious G1, but considering the cheesy plot, the character development, and the mess of events going on in this movie, it feels more like an episode of G1 than some G1'ers out there realized, than I realized!

btw, I don't hate G1 fyi. But this movie is not suppose to be G1, but it fell down that path apparently, structure wise.

And what was up with OP? He was so freakin' blood-thirsty this time around. In TF1 he mourned even having to kill Megatron. But in TF2 it was KILL YOU, KILL YOU, KILL YOU, KILL YOU. Oh and you. He was merciless.

I seriously wanted to like this movie to, I seriously wanted to love it. I was hoping it would fix all the problems the first one had, that it would be much stronger than the first. But no, there are still problems, even more problems all the sudden. Look, they didn't even solve the Barricade issue! And now we got a confusing mess of Constructicons randomly running around. Wait, wasn't Long Haul suppose to be part of Devastator's leg? What's he doing in the village shooting at Autobots? What's going on? And what happened to Megatron and Starscream? Where did they go? Does anybody know what happened in this movie because I don't!

I think that the main issue is it all went too fast and they tryed putting in too much BANG. There was no room left for personallity or answering questions. It was just action. Nothing else.

Trailbreaker, for the most part, I agree with your review. I wish Optimus had more screentime as alive rather then a metal corpse. On the other hand, his death was coming at some point, so now it is out of the way and they won't have to do that in the third. (Kill someone twice in the same series, come on)

I have said this already, but the Transformers series is very similar to the original Star Wars trilogy. The first one which introduced us to the main story and characters was awsome, not only because it was the first, but because nothing like Star Wars was ever done before. The second in my opinion wasn't as good, but it pushed the story forward. Like TF2, it was anticlimatical. Heres hoping TF3 will be like the final Star Wars in which everything gets resolved and finished with a climax deserving of an ultimate final battle of winner take all.

    Just my theory.

i know they did the whole Fallen thing so they could lead this into the Unicron stuff if given the chance but to be honest... i did not like the way The Fallen was done and he was really not worth using to flesh out any back history. I for one think they need to just leave him dead and move on. He did his job and was there just to flesh out the back stroy of the Primes. Thats done so leave it be and move on without bringing him back.
