Some people need to get off the hyper train.

This film was never meant to be an oscar wining story as michael himself said he made it for the audience.

I will address a few points how I see them.

    Constructicons

as roberto said in an interview he said there were lots of constructicons so to see more than one model didnt suprise me also if you watch the movie a second time notice as simmonds and leo realise the trouble they are in and on the ridge 2 or 3 cons appear and one is a dumper like longhaul that simmons and leo are standing next too as it transforms. The twins managed to confuse dev because they were small and moved about quickly he gave up with them when megs called him to the pyramid. The balls as dev was made up of to catapillars they the demo balls needed to go somewhere lol and i thought it was funny.

    Jolt

I agree didnt see much of him but the film was more about the main characters, just because they are new doesnt mean they need lots of screentime.

    Sideswipe

his ass kicking in shanghi was brilliant and he did appear in the egypt battle.

    RC

one of the autobots that dies at the end in egypt

the horde of decepticons in egypt you do see the truck that was boncrushers alt may have been a different con may not have been.

I really liked the dialogue between megs and SS reminscent of G1

the dogs humping was unessasary but wheelie and megans leg was hilarious.

The twins were funny and they were exactly as stated teenage bots and they behaved just like teenagers would but kicked ass when they had too. The way they got their alt forms was kinda lame.

I got what i wanted from the film and that was an action orentated transformers film that kicked ass where it needed too. I really dont worry that much about plot holes as you can see into those as much as you want and make up your own minds.

I think michael would have wanted more time to fine tune the film but unfortunatly he was set a date by paramount and had to stick to it but overall I am very happy with the outcome.

Everything negative everyone said I agree. Why oh why do we need to appeal to middle age kids with this bathroom humor of the twins? God that was so Black stereo typical. For God's sakes this guy even had a gold Tooth! Too much humor in times when you were supposed to be in awe from the transformation.

Soundwave...Great, execpt not at one moment did he decide to leave space and come fight. That would have been great. Too many robots that just appear and say or do nothing special. Whats the point of having 40 robots on the screen if you don't care about them? No interaction with those robots and the audience, especially Arcee and the corvette. Who is the corvette guy again?

And you center the plot of the movie around the twins...wow...just wow. Big mistake. Here is a hint, no one liked them. Sure, random guy calls in the US military to use a prototype weopon out of no where to kill devestator.

Sure there was more decepticon intereaction, but we needed more autobot interaction as well. I officially hate bumble bee. Doesn't talk. To me he is no an idiot. A shame with so many cool action scenes that it didn't flow to nicely. In the beggining, alot of action. Then at the end. And not once did I hear the old school transformation sound from G1, yet I heard it with the corvette in the trailers. Whats the point of making action scenes with robots that we see once in the movie and never again? whatever...oh well, it is what it is. I guess you have to try to appeal to everyone by making this into a kid movie.

Btw, someone remind to buy my tickets months before the movie premieres. I couldn't see in Imax because it has been sold out for about 2 weeks.

Hi guyz.. First post on here. Just wanted to give my views on Revenge Of The Fallen. I saw my first screening of the film on sun the 20th at my local multiplex. The cinema was packed and there was a great buzz surounding the film even though the reviews in this country have been less than favourable... Anyway I left after the screening with very mixed feelings.. On one hand the action was great and bay had thrown in most of what I wanted to see into the 2+ hour film. On the other hand I saw a film which seemed flawed from script to plot. I went home and exmamined the film over and over again in my head...

Then on tue 23rd I went with friends to the IMAX in manchester to see a screening ....wow, and i mean wow>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Any doubts I had over the film were blown away. You have to see this film in IMAX before its to late.. This is how it was meant ot be viewed.....The film just blew me away. Everything about this film seemed to work this time around. This truly is an epic action movie, probably one of the best iv seen in a long time. It just worked!!! hats of to every one involved, you have made a fan very happy. 9 out of 10

    Transformers = Bad Boys
Transformers ROTF = Bad Boys 2

    The first ones were experimental.

The 2nd ones needed a very simple story to move from one action sequence to the next and they were radically longer.

For some reason, when I watched Transformers (2007), it didn't feel long at all. I never felt that we should just get moving along but ROTF felt LONG. You actually feel it while you are watching the movie. I think it had to do with the pacing and disconnected story telling. It was all over the place.

The first hour was just action piece after action piece which was great. But after the Forest fight and then they goto Egypt, it kinda dragged until the final battle by the Pyramids.

So we get tonnes of action in the 1/3 of the movie and then the 2/3 we got little to nothing and then a full blown assault in the 3/3.

I enjoyed the movie, it was very entertaining but some things felt off about it.

I'm definitely watching it again...........in 8 hours Haha!

And again in IMAX, i really gotta see this in crystal clarity.

PS - did anyone notice the lack of actual "transformations?"

The best Transformation in ROTF was BB transforming back into the Camaro when they were outside of the prison in the evening. It was clear to see and didn't require a pass by of something to cover it up slightly. It was the perfect angle and distance from the camera and not a far away or close up shot.

We had so many Transformations in the 1st one and really unique ones such as Bonecrusher. And we also got Autobots doing teamwork together to take down Brawl. In ROTF, the final battle consisted of Autobots in the background shooting at a target outside of the frame/screen and we didn't see most of those shots connect with it's target. Its just random gunfire.

This is definitely a movie that requires a 2nd viewing. It's one of those that I hope gets better with every viewing.

I love the first one and I loved it more and more each time I saw it in the theaters.

@darthrage: I'm sorry but what lack of transformations are you talking about? There are plenty of scenes with transformations. I don't see any lack of it.
Yes, the movie is divided into two main blocks and packed like it was made of two huge episodes joined together. But that is the point. It's not true that nothing happens between the two parts and as others said there would be no soul and no emotion and no explanation. It's all there, there is nothing to explain, it's just obvious. If they forced the scenes in the middle all the tragic feeling would have been lost. I don't get what people wanted to be explained there, I really see no need to explain the obvious, that would have been bad writing, not forcing things it's a very good way of writing that many famous sci-fi writers usually do. It's not that Transformers2 writers did something so unusual, if you ever read any good book and sci-fi ones this storytelling style it's quite common.

I think i can answer some questions, even though the hasbro toys say devs is this constructicon and this one, in the sense of the movie i think thats devs is a single robot made from the six construction vehicles, just trying to make it work lol......i overall liked the movie i really did like the twins, i think the two bigest f ups were the multiple constructiocons, and the random apperance of boncrusher, but who knows maybe there will be an extended dvd version that will explain more for now lets assume away

Okay everyone with a heartattack over the constructicons just calm down. Long Haul we saw was fighting. The other Dump Truck we see was one that was at the excavation site. Transformers cant change the color of their cars/trucks so the robot would be the same colors. Mixmast, Long Haul, Rampage they were the robots that had alt forms in the movie. The ones that form Dev were extra bots in the film. Just look at the toys also. Devs balls was funny to me and most of the theater. I personally liked all the little jokes here and there. I loved the twins! Megs and Starscream little fights was an awsome add for me. OP=BADASS! Like how more robots died in a better way then just one shot in the chest.

Dont get me wrong there were plot holes left and right. How did Megs get the new alt form? How did he get to cybertron so fast? Who was the one that died for him to come back? Where did the twins go? Did Dev kill them? Also the end fight was a little rushed it felt. But was still cool. " Give me your face!"

Movie was really good, although it is to long, and there were to many sex jokes, and my favorite fight is the forest scene, Arcee doesn't die in the movie she just got hurt, so Michael Bay lied. No efence Michael Bay.

Remember in Transformers 1, Jazz passed by a bridge pillar and transformers behind it. So we didn't actually see the Transformation. Well there was quite a bit of that.

In fact, I don't remember seeing Arcee or Jolt transforming.

There are ways to cheat a Transformation:

    1) hide it as the vehicle passes behind something
    2) have it pass by something, like a Hummvee (ie Blackout's Transformation)
    3) have the camera too up close so you only see robot parts moving

We were shown quite a bit of that, especially with the very first Transformation which was Ironhide, it was up close.

Yes there were lots of Transformations, I just couldn't make out what or how they turned into the robots, unlike the first one.

I still like the movie but BB in the evening prison exterior scene had the best Transformation of them all. It was well lit, the camera was not on a dolly, and his entire body fit inside the frame.

Simply put: the movie was BADASS.

The highlight of my night though was when Michael came out and introduced the movie beforehand. SO awesome.

Yes, they can. Skids and Mudflap did at the beginning. They started as a pink ice cream truck then went to green and red.
