We have complaints about humans being in the movie...a movie that takes place on Earth. Complaints about "crude" bahavoir, from people who likely loved movies like Jackass, Wedding Crashers, and Hangover. To me though, it was a very good movie. Complaints about not having names to all robots, as if they're supposed to stop in the middle of a fight and introduce themselves. Besides, didn't you watch the old cartoons? How many times were their robots that were never introduced, just stood in the background, then vanished for a few episodes and came back with no explanation? Same fans of those cartoons complain about not knowing names of a couple Transformers.

I didn't go expecting an oscar worthy storyline with dramatic character development. Don't need to know the history of Jolt, Sideswipe, or others that some complain about not having much screen time. Don't care if Jolt won a ticket to earth from a poker game, fell in love with Arcee only for her to let him go in the ocean after promising no to. In fact, I felt they had enough screen time. The lack of lines or dialouge doesn't mean lack of screen time. If anything it leaves more possibilities for a third film.

I would agree the Arcee thing was annoying. Three bikes, three robots, one name and personality? I did like the fact that Devastator seemed to be just one giant Transformer. Some complained he was climbing the pyramid while Longhaul, Mixmaster, and others were fighting. To me it's quite simple, no explanation needed in the movie. All Transformers turn into something. Devastator just happened to transform into several construction vehicles. The others were their own robots. Not too hard to grasp.

I'll also admit the Twiins weren't as funny as I'd hoped they'd be. Wheelie, however, was hilarious. I felt as if Sam really grew up in this film. Prime showed a lot of what I loved about him as a kid. And Jetfire was surprisingly good. I loved that character as a kid, and the thought of him being some junky old fart didn't sit well with me until I saw the movie.

Lots of complaints that the movie jumps around a lot, was hard to follow, etc. I don't share that opinion whatsoever. To me it was quite easy to follow and understand, and my TF experience is limited to the 80's cartoon and the first movie. Never read a TF book or comic, yet I was able to follow it with ease. Like I said, the film was exactly what I had hoped it would be. The only "complaint" I would have was there were some scenes were the twins looked a little cartoony. Still not enough to deter me from watching and enjoying this movie again.

I agree completely with you bro. Another thing that I notice while watching the movie, my missus cries not once but TWICE. First when OP got stabbed by megs and second when BB try to console sam from blaming himself for that tragedy.

I am thinking that Devastator was its own robot and not like the cartoon with robot pieces, like the thin bot that stole the piece. That could have just been different bots fighting.

I think M Bay did an amazing job of taking the script he was given and trying to make you feel as though it was complete without it really being so. The action pace reminded me of Bad Boys 2 and I like that the actors really pushed to make the bad script work.

Kudos Michael, I can tell you worked your ass off trying to make this film the best it could be. Hope you get a better script to work with in the third installment.
While I agree the faults of the movie are more on Kurtzman and Orci, Bad Boys II was more self aware than this was.

    Wow.

I saw the movie last night at midnight, the theater was packed. I anticipated this movie to be amazing, awesome, and jaw-dropping. It was more. Mr. Bay, that was the greatest movie I have ever seen. I am saying this as a huge movie-guru who has seen a fair share of legendary movies, but that, that was a cinematic masterpiece. Truly inspiring. Thank you.

I liked it a lot but i have to see it again to write a good review.
(altough dev's balls were a bit to much at least IMO cuz the rest of the theatre was laughing quite hard) Ohh and as for the costructicons, why can't people get it through they're thick skull that that there could be more bots who just happen to scan the exact same thing. Also i thought i saw the arcee's getting shot one by one.

One of the main bad points of the movie was devastator.
I mean seriously, hes like the biggest bot out there yet he gets basically beaten the crap out of by skids + mudflaps?

And also devastator didn't actually do ANYTHING useful - all he did was act like a big vacuum cleaner sucking up sand and cars, and scraped the top of the pyramid off which the other bots could have easily done.

I am really disappointed in the fact that he was supposed to be some badass monster killing machine that only wanted to destroy things, and I was expecting him to rip some autobots apart(or at least stand on them) but he couldn't kill the 2 weakest(or some of them) autobots in the movie.

However, I think Bay got his transformation perfect and it really gave me a factor.

The fight scenes in the rest of the movie however were pretty epic, especially since we get the real Optimus Prime in this movie who basically kicked ass, and the jetfire + prime combo, literally owned megatron and the fallen at the same time.

My only question was, who did the decepticons rip apart to revive megatron? As you can see someone being ripped apart in the background when they are on the sea floor.

because we all know they didn't scan the same exact vehicle----i think starscream would be mad if another bot scan a f22---lol...anyway,,where did people noticed the multiple bots?,,in the Egypt fight?--didnt they see below the screen "10 minutes earlier" during that multiple bot sighting?

This movie friggen rocked Holy crap. It sold out my theatre. So people had to stand. When the movie started people cheered. The optimus scene people also cheered. The movie got a standing ovation at our theatre. It was awesome.

    Okay now to the review.
    The bad
Jolt had like no screen time. He had no real purpose in the movie. I mean sure he was at the end for 4 seconds and helped otimus join with Jetfire but they could have got rachet to do that. I also was so confused by the constructicons and devastator. There were like 2 different long hauls, and like 3 different scrappers. It was kinda weird. Also that whole rail gun thing was rushed in I would have preferred the autobots actually fight devastator. And one final thing. The arcee bikes and sideswipe don’t get much screen time. Sideswipe needed to fight more. Jolt needed to show up more. Felt a bit rushed at the end. (maybe another 15 mins would have been cool)
    The good
For everything that was bad there were 5 different things that were totally awesome. The opening scene with prime coming out of the plane in the sky was so awesome. Optimus is way more badass in this one. That forest scene was so over the top. Optimus really deserves a medal in this one. Honestly that forest scene and the scene at the end blew me away. The movie had a good balance of funny and serious. The explosions were big better and more badass. The fights were deffinatly a lot better then in the first movie. Soundwave though doesn’t transform served a pretty big role. Jetfire was a great edition I thought I wouldn’t like him but he grew on me. Skids and mudflap were a bit over the top but were still funny. The final battle was epic and beat the first movies city battle by a long shot. The returning of the arrival to earth score for steve jabonski was cool too. (and yes I have to mention that awesome scene in the beginning of the movie with sideswipe was awesome.)
Overall I say this movie is a lot better then the first. But it isn’t my favourite. I like the first movie better because………..actually I don’t know why I just prefer the first movie but this . I would like to watch more. Its kinda weird to describe .
    Overall 8.5/10

I forgot to mention that in the ROTF game Dev is referred to as the biggest Decepticon ever seen. It does not say that it is Decepticons merged. Maybe he should have just gone with a new name and made the pieces something other then construction vehicles.

    Default Sadly Disappointed

I will start off by saying that I'm a big Michael Bay fan. I enjoy his movies and visual style. I know that in the end it's his movie and he made the choices he wanted to make and he doesn't care what anyone says. That being said, Transformers Revenge of the Fallen was a sadly disappointing for me. Here are some of the things I didn't like:

-The constructicons were a HUGE disappointment. There was no personality to them, they didn't even make a peep, other than the Witwicky bit right at the end. I would have made THEM the fallen. Like seven fallen archangels in the transformers lore that have come to Earth to transform Megatron into Galvatron. And in the final battle, right as the constructicons are about to lose individually, the recently transformed Galvatron shouts "Constructicons Assemble!!!" and they form Devastator and wreak havoc and ultimately beat the autobots.

-the bikes, Sideswipe, Jolt, Ironhide, Ratchet, Sideways, and the newly arrived decepticons had so little screen time it was sad to see such a waste of modeling time in terms of the 3D artists.

-the sound and voices were not up to par either. They were much better in the first one for some reason.

-The plot. I thought this was going to be an "Empire strikes back" type movie where the good guys lose and it leaves it open to the third one. That was not the case.

The saddest part was that as I was sitting in the movie theatre I was trying to convince myself that it was a good movie and that it was going to get better as it went on...that didn't happen.
I think they rushed this movie. Hopefully the third one will give them(writers & director) a chance to redeem themselves since it's going to take a while for them to make it.

This is Michael Bay's worse movie. I can't believe that he actually directed this. The first scene was epic, after that the overuse of comedy ruined the film. The twins were awful, this is a really sad day for me because MB is my favorite director, and I really feel he let us down.

Having seen the 1st Transformers several times I couldn't wait for this one to come out.
However, today ,1st day of release in Australia, all my friends here in Sydney were only keen to watch the State of Origin game.. .
sooo.. i went by myself!!! and I loved it!!!
Didn't pay to watch a dramatic award winning performance, didn't expect it to have a the best original screenplay.
I paid $15 to watch a Movie based on a cartoon series.
    I expected robots and action...
    what did i get?
2,5 hours foul of pure adrenaline, bad ass robots, kick ass fighting scenes, great cinematopraphy and ACTION!!!!!

Thank you Michael Bay.Well done yet again,

PS critics have to learn to judge movies by their category.
and at the end of the day who cares.
someone that made $80 million from one Movie must be doing something right

Ok, but why the exact same vehicles?
You could have made it like that (which is not what happened in this case), no problem, but different alt vehicles instead... different color, make, brand...

I'm not trying to mash MB, he had too much work to do and i think the movie is still great!!!

    Hello

I have just arrived from the cinema, and now I feel so various... I can't write a positive review about this movie.
    The reasons why:

-First of all, the first 1 hour was like just a simple/standard movie, it was so boring. And in the story it couldn't connect so good.
-What was really surprised, what I liked mostly in the TF1 was the music, because It is fantastic, and in the TF2 we got the SAME musics from the TF1. Steve Jablonsky supposed to create some new unique amazing tracks. This movie would have been deserved...
-In the TF1 the balance between the adventure, comedy and action was perfect. Now this balance turned to bad, and the whole movie has an awkward comedy feeling, full of sticky yuck...
-The most of action line remembered us to the TF1, even the places (Egypt, looked like the Quatar's attacking place).
-The motion pictures, and directing solutions are from previous Michael Bay's film, so it seemed Michael Bay wasn't able to create unique result.

In conclusion in the TF1 we got a completed and unique world, what we got knew. In the TF2 we didn't got new, just a simple fight between the good and bad with a little love line, and there is no worst than it, because everybody knows that the good always must win... (And in the blockbuster movies the love always fulfil) Any the less that in the story there is still a door oper (megatron didn't die) what will allow to make the TF3..

But I would be really concerned Michael Bay's opinion about this review.
    Best wishes for you!
    Ákos Jeney

I loved the movie. It's so action-packed! The twins were hilarious. I was disappointed in Arcee's screen time, but I can understand.

OK.....This was a great movie....I don't need to go into huge details, but I will list some things that I liked, and some flaws I thought that could have been fixed....

    Likes:
1)The beginning...Primes narration during the China sequence was spot on!!! Completely set the tone for the film....
2)Autobot inter-action with humans was great...the twins were a bit over the top, but it does not take away from the film..
    3)THE FORREST BATTLE WAS INSANE!!!!!
4)I really liked the Pretender aspect.....

    Dislikes:
1)techincal, but how do you enter the Smithsonian (in DC) thru the front door, and end up in the Boneyard (in Tucson) when Jetfire goes out the back????
    2)Leo was a bit much....
3)suprising, but it seemed like the Scorponok scene was a last minute add to get Jetfire wounded to complete the Prime revival....

I need to see this again, that way I can get a better feel and opinion for the film, but so far, I am NOT disappointed at all...oh.....how close was this to getting an R-rating....Mikela thows out an F-bomb....the Twins language...and the rest of the profanity....it had to be close...

Easily my favorite Bay film for bang for the buck since Armageddeon. And I LOVED Armageddeon.
Best ovie experience I've had since he Dark Knight, and that too I saw at Midnight. Also when a local theater has 3 Midnight showings, adds a 12:03 at 9pm,a 12:04 at 10:30, and two more shows after 11:30 and they all sell out with people comming out with huge smiles on their faces; that is a great sign. We all got what we wanted.
First film people complained too many humans not enough robots. Now it's too much action needs more story. Truthfully, I think we are all happy as an ant at a picnic.
Big booms, big fun, big robots, big laughs, BIG! And I loved it. So say what you will, just remember though: This is a film based on a cartoon that (even though I loved) really did suck. And Michael Bay has made a toy line into (most likely) the all time biggest block buster film. Kudos! I'll see it again. And probably again, and maybe one more time after that. Everything a good movie should be.

Side Note: When the forest scene is over one guy has a different verbal reaction other than (sigh)... His was "F***, Not again!"

Oh, and Shadow, where was this bad @$$ wait til after the credits thing you talked about...?
