How far is your IMAX

OK the reason I'm putting this up is because Iv never seen a movie on Imax...I was suppose to be in NYC for 4th July but I don't think I'll make it...To drive to NYC is about 3.5hrs,,--then i'll have to sleep over da da da--spend more $$$ etc--

Now the closest Imax is 90miles--2hrs--doable--$30 gas--two tickets-food-hmmmm I wanna do it,,but i need a hype man--How far are you guys driving to see it on IMAX?

edit--does anyone know why American ROTF premieres so late?

25 mins away - real IMAX and miniImax
1.3 hours - real IMAX

An hours drive at least, and I am not sure if it is a Imax or mini-Imax.

As for the reason why America's premiere is so late, I think it may be a Olympics sort of deal with the torch going through all the countries and ending in the place where the Olympics take place.

Transformers started in Japan, so that is where the premiere is. It than travels across the globe and ends in the place where the movie was made and where it is expected the most. The way I see it.

Ahhh yes, the Jordan's IMAX Theaters are absolutely awesome..Except for the fact that you have to walk through like 8 furniture showrooms to get to it.....Man I miss that place....

The nearest IMAX for me is 6 hours away. I have never seen an IMAX movie and I will not drive that far no matter how good the movie is.

I opted to go to a different IMAX this time which happens to be a miniMax but I don't really care either way. It will be less crowded and I can see it in the realmax that same weekend if I wanted they are both 15 minutes away
