I think they learned enough about killing Optimus. So I doubt they would do it again. Lol.. this video always makes me laugh and I don't know why.

my guess is this is not meant to be looked into to deeply. I'm sure it was just a line that was character driven not possible event driven. It shows how Nobile Optimus is by offering his life to sam and letting him know that he WILL die for him and risk his life if it ever becomes nessesary. But i do not believe the event will actually happen where he will dies, maybe just risks his life instead but survives the incodent.
Also from a more technical point of view, the writers struggled for a very very long time on who would make the death blow to megatron. I believe it was one of the final things they actually decided on when finishing up the "main" script. So basically if they would have decided in the end that optimus made the kill blow to megatron, then this line probably wouldn’t exist, which in turn means, i don’t think it was a conscious story hint that was thought out to be foreshadowing for the next film. Like i said before, I’m relatively positive it is just character revealing, not event.
