    Default Terminator Salvation PG -13!

WOW. Shocking. But then agian the studio does have 200 million bucks to cover.

What do you guys think? turned off by the rating? Still gonna see it?

I dont know about you but I associate PG-13 action movies with choppy poorly edited, poorly paced choped up shells of their former selfs.

I truly hope warner brothers does not rip terminator to ribbons in the EDIT.

Still going to watch it of course. Still won't replace Terminator 2: Judgement Day in my books.

It looks like a pretty good movie so I guess I'll go see it.

I'm afraid things look a little more grim. In Germany, Sony has applied for an FSK-12 rating without cuts. To describe what that means would take more time than I'm willing to spend, but just to give you some perspective: In order to get the same rating, "The Incredible Hulk" had to be cut by more than five minutes...

    Whoopty freakin' doo.

Besides, it actually looks more hardcore than the previous Terminator films.

Still seeing it. In fact, PG-13 is a turn on for me.

Don't you all know? They release it in theaters as PG-13, then when the DVD comes out, they release a super special Unrated Version! $$$$$$$$$$

Im not surprised by the rating per say. Terminator is clearly not a pg 13 movie. It just bothers me because everytime I see a movie that should be rated R cut into pg 13 they are just messy and incoherent as a result of the edit.

Gimme a break.....There's a very thin line between PG-13 and R anyway nowadays.... Just saying the F word one too many times can change the rating...So it really isn't that big of a friggin' deal...

I really don't mind the pg 13 rating just as long as they keep all the action straight. Meaning keeping it good, fast paced, and steady, and not skimping out on it.

Im not talking about content im talking about aesthetic. The Director stated they had creative liberty with the content. Studio is pulling the rating down. Im worried about what the editors will have to do to hide potentially R rated material. Things like ripping frames and jump cutting to make action more kenetic is most frequently done to hide the violence thats appearing on the frame.

I plan to see the movie regardless just worried of some of the potential that might be sapped do to the EDIT.

Anyone seen the R rated version of TAKEN? yea maybe you should check it out.

Are you kidding me? It doesn't ruin a movie of some scenes are edited...9 times out of 10, you wouldn't know a movie is edited down unless somebody told you anyway... If you go see the movie and you enjoy it, what's the big deal? Taken was a damn good movie just how it was. There's no need for me to see an extended cut.

Whatever man. Im just saying that it can hurt a film. Just because you enjoyed a certain version of a film it may not hold a candle to what the film should or could have been when held in the confines of a certain edit

Taken though good was edited very harshly. I would hate to see the same thing happen To Terminator. And also edits are obvious you just have to know what to look for. In some cases when an editer has to push for a certain cut or cover up it can be distractingly bad.

Just watch the damn movie before you judge. McG is more worried about how the story goes than how much blood there is in the movie.

Dude he has the natural right to judge aint that what this board is for? so called "connoisseurs" who supposedly know everything about movies to verbally bash others as a way to fill the void on their lives? Any who, EMAN was only trying to inform people about the rating. So no need to be a flaming douchebag about it. Not everyone knows... man not to sound rude but its people like you that cause me to avoid these boards. Anyway, I got better things to do... Peace Out.

I agree with R-Type that the scales have changed DRAMATICALLY. the rating was originally created for Raiders of the Lost Ark, while Temple of Doom had a PG, was bloody as hell and featured the screams of dead children rather prominently!

    Transformers narrowly escaped an R.

I thought the real story went that it was actually Disturbia, that almost got rated R. The fact that Spielberg and Shia were involved in the project might have lead to the confusion.

That was the case according to TFwiki: http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Misconception...ers_.282007.29

Releasing, amongst many others, a 4-minute clip that consists mostly of money shots - that reeks of desperation. I was really stoked for "Terminator: Salvation" when McG showed us several minutes' worth way back in November. But the more I see of it, the more sceptical I get...

    Too late.

Bad director, bad script, bad cast, and bad action set pieces.

This movie looks like a bomb.
