Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen combining Transformers

Hi guys!
Just wondering...i saw the new trailer and noticed that Devastator looks changed from the ShoWest footage (maybe that was one of the unfinished renderers Bay was talking about).
Anywayz, i just wanted to see your opinion about this Transformer, and especially about his way of how would the Constructicons would combine to form it.
I mean just like Prime's power-up mode, when he combines with Jetfire (we don't even know how this mode would be called) how would they merge to just weld alltogether, because we are not in the cartoons where they just flew around and merged themselves.

Just wanted to hear your opinions.

My opinion on Devastator? The Autobots are in big trouble!

I think I remember reading somewhere that maybe the Constructicons just climb up on each other and transform into place when they're in position, but I think that was just speculation. In the G1 cartoon, they flew up, transformed in midair, and then locked into position.

As for the actual combining, do you mean how they connect to each other? I would've thought they connect through either mechanical 'locks' or electromagnets.

I'm sure it will ot be as easy looking as it was in the G1 series.. Some sort of locking mechanism I'm sure.. Bay said in a recent interview that ILM has never done anything the scale of Devastator. He is that massive. As for the jetfire /optimus..I'm more interested in why the merge rather than how..

That's how I see it too... anyway, it'll look awesome, and I it'll take forever (in screen time), I hope!!!...

And it will also take forever just to get to the point when we see that happening on screen!!! (probably an hour into the movie?)

Al right now, what do you guys think about this: Will the Constructicons combine and stay that way for the rest of the movie or will they also break apart if they need to? (1 major transformation?, multiple?)

i think they kind of over due it with to many combiners it kinda takes away from the uniqueness of a devastator if everyone else can do it to. i always thought devastator should of been the only one that could do that just to make him different and to give the decepticons an extra edge but if you have 20 different robots that can do it to it kinda gets old and loses it originality just my 2 cents.

its also kinda true, but see it like this if a couple of cybertronians can combine why not other one. Its like not everyone can be astronauts but some can and some can be actors and thats like transformers some can be combiners and the other cant.

From the start I had envisioned the combining scene in my mind. The whole desert thing kind of changed the look in my head but I still think the climbing/combining/interweaving metal thing would be awesome!

Now, the size of his torso makes me think that he will probably combine on the ground face down and push himself off the ground.

definatly hope for something cool like this, i have toyed with the idea of a you got the touch moment at the end with prime maybe dying and insztead of hot rod, sideswipe taking his spark to save the day either way i want something awsome, superion apearing to deal with devs might also be kool.

Dude- that would be Epic! Don't think it'll happen that way... more like ending to Empire where we know the good guys aren't dead, but the bad guys are def in the lead.
Could see an end credit type thing with several protoforms in space, with one transmitting something like "Brothers, keep your defenses up, we are on our way"...

My vote is for Wheeljack, Cliffjumper, UltraMag, Omega Supreme... and whoever.

Arcee will most probably be a Combiner (Rumours indicate the Twins aswell?) but this is the sole reason Arcee is in the film. So earlier on in the film, Bay shows and explains to us the idea of combining, just so we understand WTF happens when Devastator starts kickin' ass.
