Default Anybody out there a Porsche fan?

I loved the movie and I really appreciated the little nods to the cartoon etc... and I am well aware that General Motors was a huge sponsor for this film. That being said, a Pontiac Solstice is a far cry from a Porsche 935 (yes Michael, it's 911 BASED) . As much as I have no desire to see a Porsche being killed off as a character so immediately, i'd rather it was in the movie in the first place.

The little nod to Porsche when Sam and his father drove through the dealership lot was amusing and put a big smile on my face but it was largely due to the fact that I was just sure we had a Porsche coming up for a character.

That's okay, we can't have everything. I do realize you're on a budget.

I agree with the decision not to make Bumblebee a Volkswagen Beetle (new or old) even though i'm a Porsche & Volkswagen fanatic (can you tell?) because it just wouldn't have translated as well into a "realistic film". Anybody who's ever had a Bug can tell you that there just isn't that much metal or mass to them and they're not really tough looking unless heavily modified (hmmm).

Anyway, I digress.... and this can sound and be as pretentious as you'd like to take it.

As someone who grew up in and around exotic and fast cars of all kinds of different makes and models and a current and enthusiastic owner of multiple Porsche cars....... and we all need to be corrected at some point or another..

Will somebody PLEASE tell Michael Bay that PORSCHE is a two syllable word.

It works for the movie when pops says "porsh" because he's kinda goofy and he drives a british car but I expect more from the mouth of Mr. Bay during the commentary.

P.S. I used to have a tuned 1956 bug(on street tires) that blew the effing doors off of Camaros and what all else anytime I put the loud pedal down.
So I was a little bummed but I still think it's a great movie. There's always the sequel.

Default was this meant to be rhetorical?

Otherwise, I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it (figuratively). What I mean is, if I had a dollar for everytime I've heard "porsh" instead of "porsha", seen "camero" written instead of "camaro", spinning wheels called "spreewells" (eyeroll), incorrectly referring to a Saleen as a Mustang, "nyke" instead of "nike", (the list goes on) etc....you know the rest of the saying.

Point is, generally speaking, at the end of the day you are the only one that's gonna get worked up about it. Don't sweat the small stuff. You're gonna continue to enjoy yours, Michael's gonna continue enjoying his.

Where was that taken? I remember you posted a photo where he was with his dog Bonecrusher also. Does he have his Ferrari still too? Oh, and did you personally take those?

I told my Dad back when you posted that picture of his Porsch and dog that Mike bought a new Porsch and my Dad goes "Oh, he converted."

My Dad's a Ferrari guy and owns an '84 308 QV

Aw man, I love the old school 308. I wanted one when I was a kid. Back when Magnum was on the air. Sweet.

Oh yeah... and the GT3 is nice, of course.

Default You can call it what you want...

Doesn't make it right though. It's kind of a respect thing ya know? Fact is it's a mans name. That man being someone who changed automotive history. You'd probably get annoyed if someone kept mispronouncing your name wouldn't you? I'm aware M. Bay is a Porsche fan, that's what makes it worse. He can have any car he wants and he does.....and to you Mr. Devonnewberry, you don't need to be a smarmy little wise ass about it. Tell your pops to enjoy his Ferrar.

Why are you getting bent out of shape? No one is being a wise ass and no one is disrespecting anyone.

I can respond to that question, although I know you weren't expecting anyone to... Mispronouncing -- happens all the time. Last name gets slaughtered regularly. Can't get excited about it. (No, it's not a car either.) Depending on what turf you're on be it Quebec, Paris, London or Denver, you hear it every which way. I say it the way my dad told me to, but that's not phonetically correct either. So you kind of just have to go with it. (Now just don't ask me to say cement.)

Back to the car: SWEET! That said, there are however those of us who have issues with such cars -- can't drive them or even a Mercedes as there are those pesky issues with speeding tickets. "I just can't drive under 55..." Some of us require a more tamer ride.
