Look at the jacket Sam is holding just before we see the splinter hit the floor.....

Same one as he wore in the first Movie.... Dunno if Sam just never washed it or it survived 2 years of usage, but my guess is that the splinter ended up in the jacket instead of firing into Megs chest.

Even if the jacket survived two years, wouldn't Sam have discovered the splinter by now. It could be (although very unlikely) that Sam was given the splinter on the off chance the decepts would not think Sam would be entrusted with it. Then Sam accidently activates it, starts going cybertronian which is like waving a red flag to any decepticons reading the college blogs. Just guessing, who knows.

i read on of teh sites that has to do with TF2 that one guy that worked in the movie hes came and spoke to the public and said that arcee soundwave and rachet had a "special" part in the movie but we gatta wait and see
