Michael and Jerry's SUPERMAN
Mr. Bay I'm 44yrs old and a fan of ALL your work. My boys 15 and 12 are at the age where I've allowed them to watch some of the heavier content. And it was worth the wait. And they had a question I knew was bound to come.... why won't Michael and Jerry step into the ring and produce and direct an epic Superman movie. I kid you not, these are they're words. They've become big fans of yours and we've often talked around the table imagining together the type of movie YOU could do. And man our imaginations went wild. You would Direct. Jerry would produce. And Zimmer or Jablonsky would score (hint Hans).
I've been a fan of Superman since I was a toddler and I've become quite aggravated with the lack of care given to the character. I was actually put on bed rest the day before the release of Superman Returns because my blood pressure had gotten out of hand due to my anticipation. Only to be really let down greatly to the point of arguments and cursing with others. Some say I get too much into my movies.... but those closest to me know it's pure passion for a well scripted kick-ass flick, isn't that what every director wants?
Your movies move people. They bring them alive. My mom still cries at the end of Armaggeddon......so do I. Between Hans Zimmer you and Jerry you would make soooo many people happy. None the least, WB would scream like horny school girls. Nolan hit Batman on the nose, I KNOW you could knock this out the park. I never thought Transformers would be as damn good as it was, I just knew it would be good. I'm blessed with alot. Great family. Good friends and my health, but the little boy in me wants to reappear the same way he did in 1978 (Superman, The Movie Premire) and see technology at it's best in the right hands. No one since Donner has taken care of this character except maybe Bruce Timm, but not on the level I know you could. I mean come on........TRANSFORMERS, more than met these eyes.
Michael, before I leave this earth (no time soon I hope)....and I'm very serious...anyone who knows me would swear to this, I'd like to see this iconic and enormous character come to life in the majestic way he deserves. Let's face it, you've brought my Sat.morning cartoons to life, You can make Superman save the world, even if its just in the theater for two to three hours. And if you can't or not able, maybe you could pass the torch to whom YOU think can really get the job done RIGHT! This may fall on deaf ears, but I feel good even writing this. I know!!, I'm not the only one out there who would like you to take this project. Come on guys.........speak up.
Thanks for listening
E Waters
