POTENTIAL SPOILER! Anyone see the movie Knowing yet? If so, what did you think of the ending? It pretty much came outta nowhere!

I saw it and yes, i was NOT expecting that ending. It started off as a good thriller, and then it went completely left. I loved the disaster scenes though.

Out of nowhere indeed. What was the point of Know1ng all of the events that led up to the ending? Coupled with the fact that I couldn't tell whether the movie was trying to hit me over the head with religious allegory or demystify it by making it an allusion to aliens essentially pulling a Mulligan on the Human race. Poorly executed twist, IMO. Not to mention the leaps this movie took in coincidental plot points. (Cage just happens to be from MIT, his kid happens to be the one that gets the note, etc.) And what was the point of the hearing aid? Felt like I was missing something at times.

It's also a mentally exhausting movie, on the level of The Mist (meaning no comedic relief whatsoever). Avoid this mess of a movie. I expected more, at least from Proyas.

What's worse is that I was excited to see it, and i dragged my skeptical friends along with me. When the twist came, they all looked at me like I was crazy....I could do nothing but apologize for wasting their time. HAHA!

It was exactly the ending I was hoping and rooting for! I was very pleased it when actually happened.

Something i didn't understand though. They said the children that heard the whispers were going to be the chosen ones, but yet the girl's mother heard them 50 years earlier. And in the other "spaceships", did they just kidnap the other chosen kids? I don't think most parents would've let their kid go as easily as Nick Cage did. Or maybe i'm looking too much into it.

I haven't seen it yet. I will. Unfortunately for my friends, I value you guys opinions. It has saved me hundreds of dollars this past year.

I like Cage.

Well for the other kids thing, you'll remember the children were kidnapped. Nic Cage wouldn't have been there to say goodbye if he didn't know where to find them. Other children may not have even been with their parents when they left.

I wasn't shocked. The scene where the kids meet each other in the zoo and immediately share their love of animals pretty much gave it to me. After that, I just felt like I was waiting for it to happen, which was not a sensation I enjoyed. I still love Nicholas Cage and I'll be the first person to say that the disaster scenes were terrific achievements but the story depressed me. I felt no attachment toward any of the characters, even Cage's. I know the apocalyptic event in the film is scientifically possible, which just made the "solution" unreasonably optimistic and depressing. I, like a lot of Americans right now am feeling really emotionally crushed by what the destroyed economy has done to my life. The last thing I want to see right now is yet more extraterrestrials behaving like self-important cocks.

I respect Alex Proyas, but Knowing is a cluster fuck. It's like 5 different movies in one...and damn are those actors serious or what!?
