    Hopefully not being redundant (didn't see it elsewhere)...or putting it in the wrong place... if it is Mods, please fix/delete, etc. Thx. (*congrats on the award for excellence*)

    Michael Bay will receive the ShoWest 2009 Vanguard Award for excellence in filmmaking at the upcoming confab of theater owners.

    ShoWest runs March 30-April 2 in Las Vegas. Paramount opens Bay's summer tentpole "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" on June 24. Original "Transformers," released in summer 2007, grossed more than $700 million worldwide and is Bay's most successful film to date.

    Bay has two production companies -- Bay Films and Platinum Dunes -- which he formed with partners Brad Fuller and Andrew Form.

    Awesome!
    I've always defended Michael Bay against attacks that his films are full of stupid explosions, girls in underwear and mindless characters... but then he made Transformers 2 and I conceded...
