I said I was taking off a year from Transformers. Paramount made a mistake in dating Transformers 3 - they asked me on the phone - I said yes to July 4 - but for 2012 - whoops! Not 2011!!! That would mean I would have to start prep in September. No way. My brain needs a break from fighting robots.

THIS IS SO EXCITING....I HAD TO REPLY TWICE
Your first trilogy-----CONGRATS MR. BAY!!!!
A creative signature would be right here if I wasn't such a procrast.....
Glad to hear. A Trilogy is born![]()
Okay..take some rest mr. Bay..we know you're the man...!!![]()
Hello Mr. Bay,
I really hope that both Paramount and Dreamworks won't never ever consider replacing you and will agree on the delay so you can take a break. Many fans of yours are afraid that top managers could think about getting another director if you aren't available and that would surely be the worst mistake they could do. As Mr. Spielberg told in various interviews you were born to direct Transformers. It's hard to imagine any other director taking your place in the franchise, I bet anyone else would cause the franchise to either flop or bomb. Spielberg could direct by himself I think but while his style completes yours making Transformers better, there would be the lack of your more action driven vision, it would still be a good movie I bet but something unique to your visual style wouldn't be there anymore.
So as long as Paramount, Dreamworks and Hasbro managers will agree on the delay with no risk to replace you, we the fans and paying viewers will have nothing to fear. Obviously we will be demanding the 3rd movie to be even better due to the delay but you already knew that..
In the meantime we are all expecting Transformers2:ROTF to be absolutely huge, massive, apocalyptic, quite dark and epic. And maybe an extended director's cut to appear on disc release after the theatrical version...? The Teaser Trailer so far is really excellent, I'm surely going to watch it in theaters multiple times with various friends and relatives during the Summer and I hope everyone else will do the same to ensure that the movie will be a huge success and top managers then will keep trusting you and not thinking about any possible replacement.

Putting together a film like Transformers is a lot of work. Probably more than a lot of us realize. You need a break, Thats understandable.
Nice piece of news Mr Bay thanks, glad you decided to do another!
Too early to be thinking of this stuff anyway, I'm just concentrating on staying nice and spoiler free for ROTF.
Aslong as Mr Bay is still on for a 3rd movie that's all that matters, I hope the suits at Paramount realise it would be stupid to change directors just to get an earlier date. But I'd like to think Bay has more pull than for that to happen anyway.
Mr. Bay,
Thanks to you, movies has become an experience again. Transformers is YOUR baby. Everyone I know gets excited over the new TF2 trailer. So, if you do the third one, hope you finish it off with a bang BAYBY!!!!
