    Default Shadow's writing

ok so I was wondering, how many of you think Shadow's writing is cool and could have potential for getting Mr. Bay's attention, or Hasbro's.

so give a vote and tell us what you think

love th e way he uses description in his writing and how he plots things out. That's my big cousin for ya and he has taught me a lot on how to improve my writing and I've learned from him how to write awesomely. Keep it up Shadow!

Don't quit you're day job yet. You have a lot of work ahead of you before you even come close to thinking about publishing. Fan-fiction is a good starting point as a writer. Its easy to make up a story with some unoriginal characters and background. I wrote 3 complete Street Fighter fan-fics at 300+ pages a piece which are actual novel size. That was practice and not even rewrote or edited. I went to write 2 other novels seriously, but canned them for scripts where I reside now. The only good reviews of your work are hard reviews. It makes you better if you learn from them.

Thats no fair using the master horror writer King as a guide..

In a way Dev. is right..and no not knocking you..man I thought my artwork was the shit till I got my ass handed to me by a pro. He picked it apart like I was in my first drawing class..

Im a very novice writer and I think Dev would crucify me on what I have written..

Best thing I find for you..start small..even chapters..or just short stories.
As a ref some of Kings best work is short stories..though some of his best are ten ton novels..

You have the potential to pitch an idea to Hasbro and let them take it from there..How do I know? I got the same "talking" to when I was asking around 10 years ago..both artwise and writing.

and like always just keep it up man..its got potential..but like again Dev said..use existing inspiration. That way people who read your work can tell if you have a feel for what your writing for.

I'd kill to have a chance with Hasbro. Writing for cartoons is my life dream and I know it'll just be a feather in my cap.

For now, I just have to keep on living and trying to find a real job. The ice cream shop job can barely pay my rent, medical (no insurance), car payments, car insurance, and all of the other crap. I don't even want to know how much publishing is. It's impossible for me to get to Hasbro or any other cartoon network, so it has to stay nothing but a dream.

As for Shadow, I think he has the greatest chance out of us all. You are just fantastic...never forget that.
They call me Ratchet Girl for a reasonl.
    Yeah, I'm a girl...SO FREAKING WHAT????
I will always love Ratchet. Don't even try to take my title.

I would have to disagree with you on a few things about Shadow's writing. I for one believe Shadow not only tells the reader whats going on in his writing but he also shows the reader. I mean come on, the guy will go into great detail to show the reader whats going on. Second, you say not to break up the dialogue so much? At times Shadow will go on with the dialogue and other times he will break the dialogue up. This is because he is at the same time giving detail on what the person or in this case the bot is doing while that same bot is talking. Example fromAlan Dean Foster from the Ghosts of Yesterday Transformers noval. "Ghost one is off," the man declared coolly. "Thirtytwo minutes, sixteen seconds past the hour, we have liftoff of Ghost One." A moment later he added, "The tower is cleared." Now Mr. Foster could have wrote... Ghost one is off. Thirtytwo minutes, sixteen seconds past the hour, we have liftoff of Ghost one. The tower is clear. But much like Shadow does, Mr.Foster choose to add in the bit extra... (the man declared coolly) and (A moment later he added) to help the reader better understand what this person is doing while he is talking.

Now im not saying Shadow is some great writer but I think he is one of us here who would have the best chance to write something for anyone wanting to do something Transformers related. In fact Shadow has a book being published already.

i agree with you specter, and i do the same in my writing. Most of it shows in my rps but it gets alot of views and attention. Shadow is good at what he does and he enjoys it and thats what counts.

the part that I find funny is Devs went on to try and tell Shadow to look at the Kings writing as to compare, but its funny that Shadow has met King not just a few months ago and personaly has the mans number for anything he may need help on. lol

yeah that is funny, why do a comparison when you can get advice right from the horses mouth.

Personally I enjoy Shadows work, in his stories he gets to the point. Unlike many authors, who place to much use less filler into a story. Shadow actually places alot of action and emotion into his stories. You really get a feel for how urgent the situation really is. As a person who enjoys, both explosions and oh crap moments, I still say "AWESOME JOB SHADOW!!!"

I never said compare, dipshit. Its a recommendation. :lol

That's great about meeting King. Congrats, Shadow. Not a lot of people can say or even do that.

Ya thanks Devs. Dont pay attention to Specter. He means well and is one of my best friends. We were in the military together and he and I as well as Chaos were in the same unit. So I think he thought you were talking shit and was sticking up for me. We (us three) tend to do that a lot for one another. Im sure you understand?
