I doubt Michael would go out of his way to deliberately make Frank sound as different from his G1 counterpart as possible. Granted, it won't be an exact reproduction, but the final version should be something much deeper and beefier than anything we've heard before. Think "vocoder Soundwave" on steroids.
Ironically, more of Frank's actual Soundwave voice will probably be heard in the movie than it ever was in the original cartoon!![]()
He's already given us one great Transformer film - I think he's going to top it!
wow this topic has gone way off yesterday it was about frank voicing soundwave now its about beer :wtf
I'll put this thread back ON TOPIC for ya Nelson.
A good friend of mine on the IMDb boards has started a "Happy Birthday Frank Welker" thread as.....today March 12th is his 63rd.
I won't copy his idea but if Mr. Welker reads forums it would be a nice treat to see the fans show thier appreciation on IMDb and here on the #1 Director in the WORLD's forums as well.
Happy Birthday Mr. Welker!!![]()
A creative signature would be right here if I wasn't such a procrast.....

Pretty please have Frank as the voice of Soundwave. Also Happy Birthday for the 12th Mr Welker.
Cheers
Meg
Here is a question that has always pondered me. what are the fans gonna do if they don't use Welker as Soundwave, yet he still sounds awesome?

Better yet, what if they keep the identity of the voice actor a secret until opening night, Soundwave sounds awesome much like in the old cartoon (thanks to technology), and during the credits you hear a couple people talking about how awesome the movie was and Frank was awesome as Soundwave and then...
These credits roll...
Optimus Prime - Peter Cullen
Megatron - Hugo Weaving
Soundwave - Frank Langella
I hear crickets chirping already...
(And before anyone attacks, let me just say that I actually do think it would be great if Welker voiced Soundwave. Just not a make or break the movie deal for me. All in fun!)
Some people do believe there's a reason to jump out of a perfectly good airplane. Duty.

As opposed to the "oh-so-minuscule" amounts of energy the pro-Welker as Soundwave, pro-Welker as Megatron, pro-Soundwave as tape recorder, pro-Megatron as a gun, anti-Prime with flames, anti-Michael Bay, anti-Bob Orci, anti-Production of this whole damn movie series groups of people would expend?![]()

Actually having Frank Langella in the film would be cool whether as a voice or on screen actor.Hello Oscar nom cred for Frost/Nixon. Of course some fans would lol at the fact "Skeletor" is in it.
Langella was him in the 1987 MOTU movie (which is one of good things about it from what Ive read.)
