Comparing them is like comparing Heath Ledger's Joker to Jack Nicholson's Joker. They are both good.

You are not serious, are you? The 1986 movie was one of the worst films I have ever seen.

-Doesn't tell you who the Transformers are in the beginning like a movie should.
-Lame Plot, driven to only sell toys.
    -Prime died WAY TOO EARLY.
-The rest of the movie was spent with a bunch of strangers, who are very poor characters in my opinion.
-The soundtrack didn't in anyway match the events on film ("The Touch" during the Prime vs. Megs :wtf).
    -Wheelie, nuff said.
    -Quintesson scene was utterly pointless.
Unicron's has no back story what so ever (who is this guy?).

    As compared to Bay's,

-Actually introduced Transformers to the world.
-Had a plot I could at least understand (still flawed but I don't give a crap), but the part of selling toys was well played.
    -Awesome CGI.
    -Fun action scenes.
    -Megan Fox, nuff said.
-Had an actual score, Jablonsky rules.
    -Bayos and Bayhem.
    -The bots are effin' cool.

'86 Transformers was for kids and is an awesome kids movie. Anyone over the age of 11 would rather watch the '07 one. I have nephews that don't give a shit about the '07 because it is not animated, that action moves to fast for them, not enough TF time on screen, its not funny, and its not stretching their imagination.

Actually, considering that the hero the six year old always idolized died in such a stupid way (it was Hot Rod's stupidity that killed him, not to mention the fact that he died too early in the film), yeah a 6 year old would think about it. If I were watching that at 6, I'd be scarred for life.

Oh, so if I was this so called "true fan" I would enjoy this movie? In my opinion, there is no such thing as a "true fan."

    http://tfwiki.net/wiki/True_fan

A true fan is somebody who agrees completely and rigidly with the viewpoint of the person using the term. It's often uncanny, how your opinions are exactly those of a true fan.

    Examples:
"My point of view is the correct one, and if you disagree with me you're not a true fan, and thus not worthy of my time."
    "Anyone who likes
Beast Machines isn't a true fan."
"Anyone who doesn't like SimonFurman isn't a true fan."

"Anyone who thinks Rumble is red isn't a true fan."
