Yes, if Optimus dies in this movie, he could be replaced by Vector in the last one. But I think it would be a (too) big deus ex machina, and I guess vector is not as famous as Optimus, and as loved.
Maybe some Autobots / Decepticons alliance to defeat the Fallen (or worse) in the third movie... 'Could be pretty good, I guess...

Is it me or is the post in the link 6 months old and the part about Ratchet reviving Megatron is pure fan speculation and not anything reported by Orci?I thought we had established Megatron being in part 2 a while ago, now him coming back from various pieces of other "fallen" decepticons, while very interesting from a plot standpoint does not mean ratchet had to do it.

No? Ratchet can repair the aliens, this was made apparent, however, a Decepticon medic is inevitable, enter Soundwave. He's like the Swiffer f**king sweeper, he can do it all!!!
