Why is MUDFLAP and JOLT names in this movie?
why would they use those names when are is a huge list of G1 names for the Autobots? Any of these names would have worked like for the new red car I think is a chevy beat it could have been called Cliffjumper and the Volt could have been Blurr. The list is just an example of names I know some were used already.

- Ironhide - Nissan C20 Vanette
- Jazz - Porsche 935 Turbo (Later referred to as "Autobot Jazz" or "Meister" (his Japanese name) for trademark reasons.)
- Mirage - Ligier JS11 F-1 Racing Car
- Prowl - Nissan 280ZX Police Car
- Ratchet - Nissan C20 Vanette Ambulance (Later referred to as "Autobot Ratchet" for trademark reasons.)
- Sideswipe - Lamborghini Countach LP500S (Later referred to as "Side Swipe" for trademark reasons.)
- Sunstreaker - Supercharged Lamborghini Countach LP500S
- Trailbreaker - Toyota Hilux
- Wheeljack - Lancia Stratos Turbo
- Grapple - Mitsubishi Fuso Crane Truck (Later referred to as "Autobot Grapple" for trademark reasons. **Note: An Autobot named Hauler was introduced in the pilot episode. The character looks like Grapple, but it is unconfirmed if they are the same or different characters.)
- Hoist - Toyota Hilux Tow Truck
- Skids - Honda City Turbo (Later referred to as "Autobot Skids" for trademark reasons.)
- Smokescreen - Racing-modified Nissan 280ZX-R
- Tracks - Chevrolet Corvette C3 (Later referred to as "Autobot Tracks" for trademark reasons.)
- Inferno - Mitsubishi Fuso Fire Truck
- Red Alert - Fire Chief-styled Lamborghini Countach
- Hot Rod - Cybertronian Pontiac Firebird (Later Rodimus Prime, leader of the Autobots.)
