Rambo: First Blood: I had seen it as a child but didn't remember too much. And as a Big Fan of Rambo 4 I decided to buy his saw it again.

And I liked it more than I remembered. It has many flaws but the character of John Rambo is great. I like everything about it and Stallone's performance is top notch. Perfect for this character.

And now it comes a question. How About First Blood 2? The DVD costs just 10$ and i've never seen it. It's worth buying? I liked the first, loved the fourth and have barely some (bad) memories of the third.

Cosmatos. What else do I need to say?

Tonally different from the first, it plays out more like Missing in Action, so think along those lines. It picks up with John Rambo in prison (for obvious reasons of the first), and now they need him because he knows the area. 1&2 are my favorites. Followed by pt. 4.

It's also been a while since I revisited pt. 3 so I dont know how that one measures up at this point.

^^^Actually, Cosmatos was only a shadow director while Stallone did most of the directing (no offense against Mr. Cosmatos).

Sylvester Stallone did most of the directing. The credited directer 'George P. Cosmatoes' was only a ghost-directer through making of the production. The same thing will happen to Cosmatoes again in Tombstone (1993).
Re-watched Hellbound Hellraiser II. Solid sequel and the first two movies have a good heroine in actress Ashley Laurence.

That was meant as a joke to alex, as he had recently seen another Cosmatos pic, Leviathan.

Saw Toy Story 1&2 today. I love love love Pixar and it was lovely to see these 2 on the big screen again. The 3-D served as a nice enhancement, not a distraction to the art and the story. Pixar is all about story, that is the driving force in their movies. I noticed that R. Lee Ermey did the voice of
    Sarge.

    Gotta love Gunny.

One time we were watching the History Channel, my bro was about to get up from the couch, and doesn't Gunny's face pop up on the screen saying "DON'T MOVE!!!!" Scared the sh*t outta my brother. "...get ready for another episode of Mail Call, here on the History Channel! Hoo rah!"

Yeah, I wish I could see the double feature. I love Pixar and all of their movies. I still need to see Up!!!

Gunny's great. Would have loved to have seen your bro's face! LOL

I am lucky enough to live only about 80 miles from Pixar Studios. Have been to the front gates, I would love to work there and keep sending them applications. They ignore them. . .<<sigh>>

You are very lucky indeed. They're within my sights as far as where I want to pursue my career in the future. I've always dreamed of getting into film making, but animation in particular really stands out for me because of the notion of how you can make virtually anything you want with it.

    Astroboy and Fanme, the remake.

Astroboy was very well done and had elements and feel of the original cartoon series in it, I liked it. I hope they make more!

Fame was a well choreographed remake, even though it was modern, most who watch this wouldn't even think that there was an original, so well done guys. I loved the cafeteria scene, it made me want to join them, but of course I haven't danced or sung in years, or even played an instrument for that matter!

Man, I want to see that film. I've heard and read enough about it know it's my kinda thing, Will have to hunt down, though that might be hard in Cape Town.

Watched Galaxy Quest last night. Still utterly hilarious. When I first watched it, Alan Rickman was the obvious standout, but now I notice how brilliantly funny Tony Shalhoub and Sam Rockwell are.

Still, Rickman has the standout line.

I love Galaxy Quest. Hilarious. Another reason I love Harold and Maude is that it was filmed around San Francisco. I am very familiar with many of the settings in the movie. It brings fond memories that way, too.

Same, the comedy genre has truly gone to s**t.

A definition of today's comedy can be found in the recent film Year One, that is today's comedy and it sucks. However The Hangover and Funny People are along the right lines, but still pretty cheesy.

"The Sweetest Thing" with Cameron Diaz, Christina Applegate, Selma Blair, Thomas Jane, Jason Bateman and Parker Posey.

Hilarious, start to finish. It reminded me of the good old days back in San Francisco and how much fun I had. And the commentary by the director Roger Kumble, Diaz, Blair, Applegate and Bateman was pretty funny too. My favorite part was when they were talking about Aerosmith's "I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing".

    Bateman: Why this song?

    Kumble: Because it's from Armageddon

    Bateman: And who saw Armageddon??

Kumble: Are you kidding, I saw Armageddon 20 times!

Blair: The song was #1 for weeks and weeks.

    Bateman: Ok.

Funny commentary and a funny movie. Check it out if you haven't seen it.

I'm probably going to go see "Capitalism" tonight before it leaves. Then I may come home and watch the 1968 "Night of the Living Dead" on AMC. They are showing it like 5 times tonight! Good times! Just call me "Party Girl" for my wild night here! Woo
