    Chris Weitz's The Golden Compass

Fine setting, some fine shots. Lots of ridicolous moments and dialogues.
    Seems that things happends ramdonly.

    Let me ask you.

Did you find it any un-Christian at all, or against authority or anything along those boycotting reasons?

I'm curious to know your opinion.

My one friend is going off the hinge about all that stuff. Course he was always saying that J.K. Rowling practiced satanic rituals too.

    Dear God....(pun intended)

Some people seriously do not know the difference between fiction and real life.

that is sometimes true for writers as well.

I think that a story should have a point, but if you try to cram something down my throat, I'm going to gag.

Yes, some of that stuff could be found. But ones are too light (against authority) and others too obvious and exagerated (the equivalent of the Pope is like an evil emperor who wants to rule the world and who kindnapps and kills children)

Anyway, in my opinion there's no reason for boycotting, just defends freedom of thinking.

Really deserves boycotting due to the storytelling LoL

Apparently, it's the first of the three promised films.

One of my coworkers has read the entire trilogy and says there's no way they can make the third film and market it to kids. (It's basically pornographic because, well, the kiddos grow up...)

Oooh, Indiana Jones.....yes, I'll be interested to see exactly how Harrison will pull this one off at his age.

I do not doubt him one bit though.

With Shia in it, it'll be good though.

    LOL

    I don't have a reality hat.

Nimble Indy. I giggle at the thought.

But I said I do not doubt him. Therefore, I have faith.

I would sooooo love it if Connery came back to reprise his role.

Damn I loved him in the Last Crusade and the Rock.

I know, two totally completely different movies, but he kicks ass.

    I'd so hit that.

Anywhoos, back on topic: Last night, Captain Ron was on, and I watched some of it. I've forgotten how funny it really is and is absolutely the funniest film Kurt Russell's been in.

    haha. Ditto.

Speaking of movies, I just watched Gremlins 2 (again) and WOW! Did I feel my IQ drop. Though John Glover was funny in it.

    Gremlins? Gremlins 2?

Meh, it was early Spielberg. I could care less about those movies, which is why i agree with you saying you felt your IQ dropping.

Gremlins 2 is amazing, it's nota comedy or even a film with jokes, it's a joke itself.

    I saw:

    Futurama: Bender's Big Score

    Starts fine and ends terrific.

    Yeah....producer Spielberg.

Still, it was a fun movie though. I did find the Gremlins quite annoying.
