No Country For Old Men *spoilers to follow*

I finally got around to seeing this. The pacing was a little drawn out. Other than that I thought it was great movie. I agree, it's definitely not all that & a bag of chips like the Academy thinks it is. But it's well acted (especially Bardem's Anton Chigurh, one creepy SOB), nicely shot, yet like I said, drags a bit with the pacing. Some of the Coen's offbeat humor shone through in the otherwise dark toned movie.

Nobody got their man in the end, which I though was cool. I didn't feel it was as bad (or boring) as others had felt. Overrated? Maybe. Enjoyable? By me it was.

Okay...hmmmm....I thought there was alot of good acting in no country for old men....However the writing...nno;the script was just piss poor, the movie left you hanging knowing there is no second part or an explanation comming...If it was an different and meant to be a artistic movie I would say it was okay...But all I can say bout this movie is there was two, possibly up to four good actors.

Last movie I've seen was the aforementioned "No Country for Old Men", again, now that the Blu-ray has finally arrived at my doorstep. What can I say? A masterpiece, no less. Not that too many people get it, though. (Especially not the AICN-crowd, one of the reviews there was the dumbest thing I've read on the site in years. Which is saying something...) For instance, NOT explaining major plot points and NOT giving people the showdown they might be waiting for is, in fact, the point...

Does remind me a little of "Signs", although that movie doesn't even come close to the Coen's brilliant work. But, as is the case with "No Country..." hardly anyone really got what the movie was all about.

Oh, and in preparation for "Crisis Core" (awesome game, by the way) I watched "Advent Children" again. Not a classic, but very enjoyable.

Concerning "Dan in Real Life": Surprisingly enjoyable, definitely one of the better chick flicks. Wouldn't really have watched it had I not caught it in a sneak preview.

Southland Tales: In a word, brilliant. I always wonderes what Richard Kelly could do with a budget and now I know. He made a flick that is instantly amongst my all time favorites. This is a movie that will be studied in film classes til the end of time just fro the number of themes he explores in this movie.

Duality: It's a $7,000 indy flick that I received a request for feedback on from one of the actors. Good movie. Not great but good. It was well worth the watch. Search for it on MySpace to check it out.

No I have nothing to do with the film makers and I am not affiliated with them in anyway and they don't even know I am talking about the flick here.

I just like to throw out some stuff that people have not seen that I actually saw value in.

My friend rented it from netflix and we watched it one night. Of course you can't go wrong with Steve Carell.

Oh, but you can... Two words: "Evan Almighty".

And from what I've seen so far: If "Get Smart" is even bearable, I'd be truly surprised...

Well I watched two new movies last night.
The first movie I saw was doomsday. It reminded me of mad max and escape from Ny,but with a female heroin. The second movie I saw was Goerge A. Ramero's Diary Of the Dead. Now talk about a good movie.I had heard rumors it was like blair witch meets night of the livving dead.Well everyone knows Romero did Night of the livving dead. When he redid the original in color I thought he did a pretty good remake but then he made that god awful Land of the dead.Well this movie I saw last night was completly original,It had a feeling of realism and was as good as night of the livving dead. It is filmed by two college students. When one film student decides to film their trek across a few states and the happenning that begin taking place as they attempt to reach their family and friends.I can't say enouph about some of the acting. It was a really good movie.Almost made me believe in the bibles three days of darkness when the devil will rise with his minions and the dead shall walk the eath. And it really does say this my cristian/catholic friends. But it was a really good movie.
