Official Release Date Moved to the 24th of June?

not that I am disappointed or complaining that it is 2 days sooner, but for a movie with this much build up why put it on a wednesday instead of the friday, just curious.

I would like the new date even better. I'm going to a Twins game on the 26th and I'd rather be at opening night of TF2 than that. Plus, it's closer to my 24th birthday!

they did that on the first movie as well releasing it on the 2nd of July. Originally it was supposed to be released on July 4th but then they moved it 1 day back and then they moved it one more day at 8pm being the very first showing.

For most summer tent pole movies being released either on the week of Independence Day or 1 week before ID or Memorial day, they have seen a history of releasing the movie on a Wednesday.

This will also make it consistent with box office stats giving them a 5 day weekend projection

Great! I'll be in the United States in June 26th.. this "release date moving" will probably make weekend tickets a little bit easier to get.

whats the matter with Harry Potter??? Its a completely different movie. TF2 will more than likely outgross Potter like it did last time, but it is probably the only film that has a shot at beating TF2 for the summer crown. Moving the release to the 24th is a smart move....it allows or multiple viewings in the first weekend to help elevate the initial box office gross!

I am really not surprised they moved the film to Wednesday. As already noted, it will give them a solid 5-day opening weekend. I also anticipate a special viewing on Tuesday the 23rd as was also offered with TF1.
