I was thinking about the icecream truck.... and why a bot would choose it for an alt mode..

what if.... the bot landed on earth, and had to quickly pick an alt mode as there was impending danger.... so it just went with the first thing available?

Although the ice cream truck doesn't look like it is much bigger the the individual vehicles the twins later become. I do believe they do form the ice cream truck in the beggining.
