By all accounts and purposes it has a good script, mostly good casting, and Sommers is competant at physical effects. The only thing that has me worried is rubbish CGI which Sommers does have a history of, and this trailer shows signs of too.

However if it's entertaining and fun most will forgive bad cg, like we forgave the first two Spider Man films.

My expectations are really low for GI Joe. If you pause some of the scenes in the trailer it looks pretty cheesy. The costumes (Storm Shadow looks like a halloween Ninja costume), the actors, and checkout the CGI people in the background running down the street.

Sure it has some time to come out yet, but if it's anything like every other Stephen Sommers movie: The trailers look good, but the movie will suck ass.

I dont care what anyone says,we are going to see this.Even if the flipping ninjas in the street, remind me of ironhides scene on Transformers.ironhide looked right, the ninjas looked like they were flying.still gotta check it out,toy sells arent great either.i saw a tank set,it came with two tanks,an aerocraft, and six g.i.joe characters.one was destro.marked originally at $62.00 on sale at a target 75% off rack marked for sale at $15.00.it was huge!sales arent good, maybe this is a sign of peoples interest in the movie right now.I started to see toys(transformers )being bought before the news of the movie being made by bay.even more so after TF.the TF shelves here stayed empty.

    Thumbs down Re: G.i. Joe

Anyone wanna see what the Cobra Commander basically looks like?

You can go here and see the toy action figure. All I will say is...I don't like.

Not that I am a purist for GI Joe in any form, but i think this a better way to go than a mirrored face shield or a blue shroud...it makes sense if he is deformed or scarred or has some illness that requires the apparatus....

Somebody needs to stomp on Somer's nutz for ruining Cobra like that. We all know he's half retarded and makes lame movies but I at least hoped he would get a guy with a blue hood over his head right! Everything I've seen about that movie screams lame but I held out hope because I hoped Cobra at least would be cool, nope I was wrong.

I dont know the closer we get to ROTF,I kinda got this urge to see the movie G.I. Joe.to be a fan of this growing makes the curiosity level go up.I know people have discussed the fact that it looks cgi-ish during the bus scene but after looking at the characters jumping through the bus,I have concluded these to be two robots.werent there some on cobras force?Someone may be cashing in on robots too.Bring on ROTF!..................and then G.I. Joe.together.

You think after making so many movies Sommers would eventually get 1 single thing right. He belongs in the same midden heap that Uwe Boll, Brett Ratner and Rob Cohen are in.

Exactly how hard is it to do a straight up military thriller? Seriously? Go back to the 80's, there were a million awesome army movies that you could easily imagine as GI Joe. Why have them in their Sigma Suits when everyone knows them for their own individual uniforms? Why merge the characters of Dr Mindbender (lame) with Cobra?

Let me guess. A whole movie about soldiers with guns and swords yet nobody's gonna get shot or stabbed right?

You know what's my GI Joe? The Expendables!

I dont know the story line behind the movie or the director but I am willing to see what it has to offer from the trailer alone. At first ,when i got news of the movie I was like,"hmmmnnn,Nah!" but i gotta give it a chance for its name alone. It make me curious as to the outcome.bring on the ninjas!
