Those aircraft carriers looked rad, dude.

The rest was more of a mass of moving texture. Hard to see what's happening in small on-screen viewing. Definitely one to see on the big screen.

Michael, very cool teaser trailer. My 7 yo old son went completely crazy, however, if it is rated PG13 he will be in total despair, as he won't be able to see it. What was the shot of Optimus Prime getting smacked in the face? He lives right? That would be a hard one to explain to the kids.

    thanks for the movies!

I actually posed the question not expecting a response about the death of optimus to bay... before the trailer.in the special features the creators said if they had to do over again that they wouldn't of killed optimus and didn't realize the profound effect it would have on children... many parents threatend to sue and ban the show, because they felt the show had traumitized their children and forced them to address the issue of death at such an early age.

...and it PO'ed teenagers like me at the time, who quit watching Transformers after that. It wasn't until I bought the entire series on DVD for my kids that I found out they resurrected O.P.

Well, I was 16, so by that time I'd really grown out of it and began to loose interest even before the movie, which I never watched till I got it for my kids. One thing about watching the old cartoons as an adult, if Bay hams up the dialoge (as some have complained about) they can't say he isn't sticking with the source material. Talk about corny. But I never thought anything about it as a kid and now my kids love it.

hopefully, the humor in this film will be a little less low brow.

I think it may be worse actually. I think I remember Orci mentioning that. I also think that the violence may be a little more, well, violent this time. Nothing a 7 year old hasn't seen or used to finish a game, it is 2009

Back in 2008 Orci said this about the humor:

Question: Also about the humor and jokes in the next one, any chance of making them alittle "smarter" ?

Some of the jokes in the first is okay in a American Pie type movie but not in Transformers in my honest opinion.

Answer: Don't know how the humor will turn out yet. We have to find it. But we know it has to come from whatever situation Sam finds himself in. Any similarities to American Pie were the result of our character being in a similar situation (age, high school, etc.).

Back in 2008 Orci said this about the humor:
    I was speaking of this:
IGN: Storywise, how does the sequel compare to the first one?
Orci: It's an extreme [jump] from the first one. The outrageous, crazy humor is more outrageous, but then so is the serious side of it and so is the stakes of the Transformers plot and the seriousness with which some of their mythology is treated. So it kind of swings wildly between those two extremes, and that I think was one of the successful parts of the first movie. Again, some of the die hard fans will be equally annoyed at some of the things they see, but I can also say they will be more gratified than they were for the first one, to see how some of the Transformers story and how their battle takes place in the second one.

Indeed, as long as I don't get to hear "when do we get to beat some decepti-chumps" or something similar from Ironhide.
"Come on, Decepticon punk!" from TF1 (Jazz) was actually quite cool, since we know Jazz likes Earth and human culture it was a nice way to incoorporate it into a line.

Haha! Which is more important than doing a good movie.

    Raddimus:
I meant you no harm dude, chill down. I was just keeping the thread going with my own thoughts.
Me being a "Junior" has nothing to do about it, I have seen posts by Seniors that doesn't make any sense. Stop jumping on new posters just because you can't read my posts correctly.
If you have issues with me (or anyone else) quoting you, you should think hard before you post anything on an official forum on internet.

    'nuff whining on my behalf.
